The "minors" child detainees in Damon Prison suffer and programmed targeting

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said in a report issued on Wednesday morning that child prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers suffer from harsh and inhuman conditions of detention, which lack the minimum international standards for the rights of children and the rights of prisoners.


The authority added, in a press statement, that the suffering is in all aspects, such as lack of food and its poorness, lack of hygiene, the spread of insects, detention in rooms that do not have adequate ventilation and lighting, medical negligence and lack of health care, lack of clothing, cut off from the outside world, and denial of visits. Parents, detention with Israeli criminal children, verbal abuse, beatings, and isolation, in addition to collective punishments and terrorizing them when storming the departments in a frightening way.


The Commission noted that the number of minor prisoners in the occupation prisons reached 170 minors, 43 of whom are in the Cubs section of Damon Prison, the youngest of whom is the 14-year-old prisoner Hamza Salim Hijab, who was subjected to the most severe forms of beating and abuse at the moment of his arrest and during interrogation with him, according to what was reported by a female lawyer. Commission Heba Masalha, where the occupation forces arrested him at six in the morning after they stormed his house and searched his contents and turned them upside down, after that they took him to the police station in the occupied city of Haifa and interrogated him for continuous hours without the presence of any of his parents or a lawyer as stipulated by the law, and from Then they transferred him to the detention center in Al-Jalama, where he stayed for 17 days in harsh interrogation conditions, after which they took him to Al-Damoon Prison, section “4”, where he is still detained.


As for the case of the prisoner Wassim Rushdi Bishkar, who was arrested by the occupation forces from his home at dawn, after they searched him and broke his contents, to be transferred to Al-Jalameh isolation for a period of 25 days, where he was interrogated while he was handcuffed and feet, which caused him harm and damage, to be transferred after that to Al-Damoon prison Cubs section.


The commission emphasized that these attacks come to confirm the brutality of this racist entity, which continues to escalate against prisoners of all ages, in the absence of human rights institutions and its renunciation of all humanitarian treaties and covenants.
