Within two weeks, the occupation demolished and seized 42 buildings in the West Bank and Jerusalem
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) monitored that the Israeli occupation demolished and seized 42 buildings in Jerusalem and Area C in the occupied West Bank, during the past two weeks, under the pretext of lack of building permits.
OCHA added: "The demolitions resulted in the displacement of 50 Palestinians, including 23 children, and damaged the livelihoods of more than 600 others."
He noted that 9 of these buildings were provided by donors as humanitarian aid, including a school, and more than 26 buildings were located in Area C, including a school funded by donors, south of Bethlehem.
OCHA said: "The occupation demolished the remaining 16 buildings in Jerusalem, including two demolished residential buildings in the Wadi Qaddum area in Silwan, which resulted in the displacement of seven families comprising 39 individuals, including 22 children."
He explained that 7 other buildings were demolished by their owners to avoid paying fines to the occupation, and that the occupation destroyed a residential building in Area “A” in the West Bank, and damaged three others during the operation that it carried out in the Old City of Nablus.
