In preparation for a new round.. The occupation is fortifying itself against anti-tank missiles

A report by the Hebrew newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, stated, on Tuesday, that the Israeli army continues to fortify the settlements around the Gaza Strip to prevent the launch of anti-tank missiles.

According to the Hebrew newspaper, the Israeli army erected defensive walls and earthen dams that completely conceal the borders between the Strip and the settlements around the border.

And it indicated that although this is intended to protect settlers and Israeli military sites, this raises many questions about Israeli deterrence.

She pointed out that the residents of the settlements around the Gaza Strip complain about these fortifications, which prevented them from seeing agricultural areas and other scenic views, as they describe.

According to the newspaper, the Islamic Jihad, during the last round, was looking for a target to launch an anti-missile that would allow them to get an image of victory after the blow it received by assassinating its leadership.

She pointed out that the Islamic Jihad movement actually tried to carry out attacks, but the Israeli army thwarted those attempts before they occurred by targeting their launch groups, but it succeeded once in launching one missile that fell in an open area, causing a small fire.

The newspaper says: The security establishment understands the impact that such an event could produce and an effort is made to thwart it, so every time there might be a round, the open roads in front of the Gaza Strip are closed, and the Israeli army was not satisfied with that and built complete defense plans. It includes erecting massive concrete walls in certain areas.

And the newspaper indicated that, after each military operation with Gaza, the Israeli army determines the sites exposed to anti-tank fire, pointing out that more walls and earthen dams will soon be built in certain areas.

And the newspaper adds: "This defensive move raises a discussion, no less important, on the issue of Israeli deterrence against Gaza, through which it is clear to everyone that the next round is just a matter of time."
