Palestinian security forces between the hammer of occupation and the anvil of unjust accusations
Soldiers and officers of the Palestinian security services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are subjected to great pressure and clear moral targeting. The pressures on the Palestinian security services are represented by the Israeli occupation forces' continuous incursions into Palestinian areas, as well as their systematic smear campaigns against the soldiers and officers of those agencies. In the same context, the moral targeting of the Palestinian security services is represented by the serious accusations that some make against them, for narrow partisan and factional purposes. These accusations come despite the honorable history of struggle written by the soldiers and officers of the security services, baptized with the blood of the martyrs, the groans of the prisoners, and the pain of the wounded.
The Palestinian security services suffer from the practices of the Israeli occupation, which is represented in the continuous storming of Palestinian areas and city centers. These incursions come in light of the great unlimited military capabilities possessed by the Israeli occupation, which is unfair to compare with the modest capabilities of the Palestinian security forces, which cannot confront and repel these incursions, and the deliberate targeting of the lives and bodies of the Palestinian people. and their freedoms. In addition, the practices of the occupation against the Palestinian security services are represented in the systematic smear campaigns against them, and the promotion of false news about them on the Internet and social media.
In the same direction, all workers in the Palestinian security services, without exception, suffer from the various accusations that are used for partisan, factional, ruthless, indiscriminate, and lacking logic, patriotic and moral sense. These accusations are based on treason, atonement, and failure to defend Palestinian citizens. These accusations are used continuously, but they increase in a systematic manner at specific times, especially when political differences escalate between the Palestinian factions and currents, and the security services are involved, as a settling of scores.
Anyone who wants the full, unbiased truth believes that the vast majority of the soldiers and officers of the Palestinian security forces are fighters, or freed prisoners. The Palestinian security forces were formed from the fighters who joined the Palestinian revolutionary forces with all its factions abroad, and returned after the Oslo agreement and its annexes to the Palestinian land. It was also formed from liberated prisoners in the first and second intifadas, who paid many years of their lives for the freedom of the homeland.
All those who make false and rejected accusations against the Palestinian security services also know that those who led the second intifada in 2000 were mostly soldiers and officers of those services, who at that time formed the mainstay of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. The Palestinian security forces were at the forefront of the confrontations when the Israeli occupation forces invaded the Palestinian cities, villages, and camps, and fought and valiantly defended the Palestinian people, and paid a heavy price, with the martyrdom, injury, and arrest of thousands of its cadres, and the destruction of its headquarters in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian security services offered hundreds of martyrs in the second intifada for the sake of Palestinian freedom. Among these martyrs, for example, but not limited to, are mentioned Ahmed Mufarrej “Abu Hamid”, Abd al-Muti al-Sabawi, Raed al-Karmi, Hussein and Atef Obayat, Youssef Rihan “Abu Jandal”, Nayef Abu Sharkh, Hussein al-Zubaidi, Marwan Zalloum, Muhannad Abu Halawa, and Fouad Adili. He also mentions Ahmed and Raed Al-Damisi, Ash’ab Galaita, Ziyad Al-Amer, Muhammad Abu Latifa, Amer Aida, Mazen Abu Al-Wafa, Maher Al-Shuaani, and hundreds of others whose sacrifices for the homeland cannot be forgotten, and their exploits cannot be denied.
In the same direction, the Palestinian security services provided thousands of prisoners during the second intifada, and those who lived in captivity cannot deny the role of the cadres of these agencies of various ranks in leading the captive movement, and in the permanent confrontation with the "interest of the Israeli occupation prisons." Among these prisoners, Fouad Al-Shobaki, Kifah Khattab, Iyad Samhan, Amir Abu Radaha, Hussam Shehadeh, Ramzi Obeid, Nasser Owais, Muhammad Zawahra, Khalil Al-Shilo, Omar Akkawi, Yahya Al-Nimr, Haitham Hamdan, Samer Abu Kwaik, Nasr and Sharif Abu Hamid are mentioned. , Muhammad al-Lamlih, Hassan Bizour, Bahaa al-Qassas, and Bassam Katie’.
Among the prisoners of the Palestinian security services are also mentioned Wael Samara, Amin Ziyad, Raed Al-Sheikh, Imad Al-Sarraj, Basil Arif, Mahmoud Abu Khousa, Muhammad Al-Zitawi, Falah Shehadeh, Imad and Tawfiq Rabaya, Muhammad Al-Ghul, Muhannad Abu Samra, Zaid Younes, and Abdul-Rahim Abu Holly, Yasser Abu Bakr, and Naji Arar. He also mentions Hani Khamaysa, Fares Al-Assar, Muhammad Al-Yadek, Bilal Ajarma, Jihad Al-Hindi, Ashraf Ammar, Dhafer Barham, Ayman Al-Awawdeh, and Majed Al-Masry.
In addition to the above, we cannot forget the martyrs of the security services who died in captivity, as a result of the deliberate medical negligence that the Prison Service pursued against them, such as Maysara Abu Hamdiyah, Kamal Abu Waar, Daoud Al-Khatib, and Shadi Al-Sa`idah. It is also impossible to forget the thousands of other prisoners working in the Palestinian security services, and from the various factions, some of whom are still in prison, and have spent more than two decades, and most of them are sentenced to life imprisonment, and some of them were released and returned to work in the various Palestinian security agencies, or affiliated with them.
In the same direction, sons, brothers, sisters, and wives of the martyrs, prisoners, and wounded who were involved in these services, and from all Palestinian factions, work in the Palestinian security services, and are proud of their role in preserving the path of their loved ones, despite all the complications, accusations, and pressures. They still continue to work with the Palestinian security forces as loyal soldiers, in order to carry out their sacred duty, and to serve their country and their people, with conviction and faith.
At the present stage, the Palestinian security forces are committed to the nature of the tasks entrusted to them, which are represented in maintaining security, pursuing outlaws, and maintaining civil peace. The Palestinian security forces are also committed to a declared political program, endorsed by the Palestine Liberation Organization and the government, and which obtained a consensual factional consensus, based on the need to focus on the method of comprehensive popular resistance, as a form of Palestinian national struggle, to confront the Israeli occupation.
It is certain that there are many observations and complaints about some individuals and leaders of the Palestinian security services, as well as mistakes and cases of infiltration, but this is common in security work, and does not give anyone the right to use excessive generalization, comprehensive accusation, and forgetting the patriotism of the entire security services, their sacrifices, and their services To the country, and to all citizens. Also, no one has the right to impose his partisan, factional, or personal visions on the national whole, and forbids and criminalizes according to the interest, and at the same time defends the same behavior if it emanates from those to whom he belongs, or supports him.
