Msakni is the best player and Younes Ali is the best coach in the Qatari football season
Tunisian Youssef Al-Masakni, Al-Arabi player, won the best player award in the Qatari football season, ahead of Kenyan Michael Olonga, Al-Duhail striker, and Qatari international Akram Afif, Al-Sadd player, after collecting more votes in the voting process that was supervised by the award’s board of trustees.
The Qatar Football Association held a special ceremony for the best at the end of the season, according to the selection of the technical staff of the Qatari teams and clubs, administrative officials and media men.
Al-Arabi coach Younes Ali won the best coach award after he led his team to win the Emir Cup title after an absence of thirty years, by defeating Al-Sadd in the final match 3-0 on Friday, while Al-Arabi competed for the league title until the last round and finished runner-up to Al-Duhail.
Al-Rayyan player Osama Al-Tiri won the title of best player under 23 years of age in the season, beating Al-Duhail players Khaled Saleh and Al-Arabi Jassem Jaber.
Yunus Ali said, "The credit goes primarily to the players for my victory as a coach in the award, which confirms that I supervised a distinguished team with elements who presented good levels throughout the season, and I consider myself present on the platform on behalf of the players and assistants in the technical and administrative staff."
He added, "We competed this season until the last meters for the league title, which Al-Duhail won without a doubt, but we crowned our distinguished season by winning the Prince's Cup title, which has been absent from the club for many years, which delighted Al-Arabi fans who are hungry for victory, and we hope to continue developing in the next season." In order to appear strong and win more trophies.”
In turn, Al-Masakni affirmed his pride in winning the title of best player for the second time after he was crowned in the 2017-2018 season when he was a player in Al-Duhail, considering that the award is the result of the great support he received from his fellow players and the technical and administrative staff of the club.
Al-Masakni said, "The award, although it was individual, but it dedicates the great work that the team did as a group this season, after we competed strongly for the Qatari League title until the last meters, and we came in the runner-up behind Al-Duhail, then we crowned the effort by winning the Emir Cup title after many years of absence from the podiums. I hope that we will continue to develop next season and achieve more achievements.”
