Prisoner Amarneh continues his hunger strike for the 12th day in a row

Today, Thursday, the Captive Club said, "The detainee, Sheikh Majd Amarneh (51 years), from the town of Ya`bad / Jenin, known as Sheikh Izz al-Din Amarneh, continues his open hunger strike for the 12th day in a row, in rejection of his administrative detention."

The club stated in a statement that Sheikh Amarneh is blind and suffers from several health problems and is in need of care and health follow-up on a permanent basis, pointing out that the occupation forces arrested him on February 21, 2022, and three administrative detention orders were issued against him, the first and second orders. Their duration is 6 months, while a third order was issued against him last March for a period of four months, noting that he is a former prisoner who spent nearly nine years under administrative detention.

Sheikh Amarneh is married, and the father of five sons and daughters. His male children are detained in the occupation prisons alongside him, namely Ahmed and Mujahid. His son Ahmed is an administrative detainee, while his son Mujahid is serving a 24-month prison sentence.
