German Cup: Eintracht Frankfurt turns the tables on Stuttgart and qualifies for the final

Eintracht Frankfurt turned the tables on its host Stuttgart, and Leipzig joined the German Cup final in football by beating it 3-2 on Wednesday in the semi-finals.

Eintracht Frankfurt finished the first half, lagging behind with the goal of Portuguese Thiago Tomas after a pass from Joshua Vagnoman (19), but he responded in the second half and equalized through Frenchman Evan Ndica after a pass from his compatriot Randall Kolo Moanit (51).

Then the Japanese Daishi Kamada put the guests in front with a shot from outside the area after only four minutes (55), before Kolo Moanih added the third from a penalty kick that he snatched himself (77).

The evening was French par excellence, as Enzo Mio narrowed the difference to Stuttgart with a shot from outside the area (83), but that was not enough to satisfy the 47,500 spectators who gathered in the stadium to support their team, which is suffering greatly in the league, in order to try to qualify for the first final since 2013 and maintain its hopes for the title. The first since 1997.

And after the expulsion of the Croatian Borna Sosa from the ranks of Stuttgart in the last five minutes (85), the task of the guests became easier and in the end they decided their ticket to the ninth final in their history crowned with five titles, the last of which was in 2018.

The final will be held on June 3 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, where Eintracht Frankfurt will meet last season's champion Leipzig, who won Tuesday over runners-up Freiburg 5-1, despite the numerical shortage in its ranks.

In their two matches in the league competitions this season, the two teams exchanged victories, as Eintracht Frankfurt settled the first confrontation with a clean four, before losing the return leg at its opponent 1-2.
