England Championship: Leicester City and Everton tied in a struggle to avoid relegation

Leicester City and its guest Everton, who are struggling to avoid relegation in the English Premier League, tied 2-2 Monday in the thirty-fourth stage competitions.

Both teams hoped to score three valuable points in the fierce battle this season to avoid relegation.

Everton opened the scoring with a penalty kick to Dominic Calvert-Lewin (15), before Leicester equalized through the Turkish Chalar Suyondjo (22) and advanced later through Jamie Vardy following a deep pass from James Madison to penetrate the area, dodging the goalkeeper and entering the net (33).

Before the end of the first half, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford prevented the hosts from consolidating their lead by blocking a penalty kick taken by Madison (44).

Nigerian Alex Iwobi equalized after the break with a shot from inside the area (54).

And with an expected relegation for bottom-twentieth Southampton (24 points), a four-way struggle is taking place to avoid the other two places, as Everton ranks bottom with 29 points, just a point away from each of the eighteenth Nottingham Forest, the seventeenth Leeds United and the sixteenth Leicester City.
