Saudi King's Cup: Al-Wehda eliminates Al-Nasr and Ronaldo, and meets Al-Hilal in the final

The numerically deficient Al-Wehda set a date with Al-Hilal in the final of the King of Saudi Arabia Football Cup, after its remarkable victory over its host, Al-Nasr, and its Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, 1-0, on Monday, at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh, in a semi-final.

Al-Wahda played with ten players since the 53rd minute, after the scoring opened in the 23rd minute through Frenchman Jean-David Boguel, but Al-Nassr did not succeed in taking advantage of the numerical shortage throughout the second half.

Al-Wehda succeeded in reaching the final for the first time after 53 years, as its last appearance in the final was in 1970 when it reached the final and lost it to Al-Ahly 2-0.

Al-Wahda inflicted a new disappointment on Ronaldo after his team became three points behind Al-Ittihad, the league leaders, and the last match was postponed, and thus the possibility of his season ending empty-handed after reaching Al-Nasr with a fictional deal estimated at 200 million euros at the beginning of this year.

The first half started quickly from both teams, and there was an opportunity for victory when Ronaldo aimed a powerful ball that passed by the post (9).
Al-Wahda goalkeeper, Moroccan Mounir Mohammadi, saved his goal from a goal when he tackled Ronaldo's ball before it came back and collided with the latter and lost its danger (11).

And from the first dangerous attack, Al-Wahda succeeded in scoring when Bogail received a ball inside the penalty area, which he played powerfully to the right of Nawaf Al-Aqidi (23).

An opportunity for victory was created when Brazilian Anderson Talisca hit a powerful ball, which Al-Mohammadi caught brilliantly (31). Al-Nasr missed an opportunity to score when Ali Al-Hassan broke the offside trap and faced the goal, but his ball went past the post (44).
With the start of the second half, Al-Mohammadi continued his brilliance when he brilliantly blocked Ronaldo's header, before the ball returned to Sultan Al-Ghanam, who shot it strong, and the defender turned it away for a corner (46).

Another chance for victory arose when Al-Ghannam set up a ball for Abdul Rahman Gharib, who shot it powerfully, and the defense succeeded in pushing it away before it reached his own goal (48).

Al-Wehda completed the match with ten players, after the referee declared the second yellow card to defender Abdullah Al-Hafiz (53).
Ronaldo hit a powerful ball from a free kick, but it just crossed the crossbar (55).

Al-Nasr missed an opportunity when Abdul Rahman Gharib hit a powerful ball next to the post (65). The crossbar denied Al-Nasr a goal when it tackled Ronaldo's ball before it made its way outside the field (83).
Al-Nassr intensified its pressure in the remaining time and was close to scoring when Brazilian Luiz Gustavo headed a ball into the goal, but the defender pushed the ball away from the goal.
