Spanish Championship: Barcelona is close to the title, and Al-Nusairi leads Seville to a fatal victory

Barcelona achieved the most important and regained its balance, approaching the first title since 2019, by winning the summit against its guest, Atletico Madrid, 1-0, on Sunday, in the thirtieth stage of the Spanish Football Championship .

Barcelona owes its victory to its international striker Ferran Torres, who scored the only goal in the 44th minute.

Barcelona returned to the winning streak after two disappointing goalless draws against Girona and Getafe, and regained the 11-point difference that separates it from its traditional rivals and direct chasers Real Madrid, the defending champion last season, who won 2-0 at home to Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Barcelona served the royal club after enabling the latter to move away by five points from its neighbor and put an end to a series of six successive victories for Atletico in La Liga.

"We had to win no matter what," Torres told Movistar. "It was important to take a big step forward in the search for the league title."

He added, "The team worked very hard, and the fans were with us from the first moment, and the result was in our favor."

As for his coach, Xavi Hernandez, he praised his German international goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who saved his goal from several opportunities, and said in statements to reporters, "I have always said that Mark is among the three best goalkeepers in the world, and for our match, I think he is the best," adding, "He is Guarantee, our defense too, defensive work is essential and Mark was decisive in different moments.
On the other hand, Slovenian international goalkeeper Atletico Madrid Jan Oblak said, "The Spanish League has been difficult for a while and still is, we could not make it a little more exciting," referring to his team's failure to win.

He added, "If Barcelona continues like this, with the advantage they have (the 11-point difference), they will win this league."

Atletico Madrid had a relative advantage in the first half and almost opened the scoring on two occasions, the first just seconds after kick-off with a shot by former Catalan club player French international Antoine Griezmann from a powerful left-footed shot from outside the area that bounced off the crossbar (1), and the second with a powerful, creeping shot by the striker. The Argentine sent Korea a creeping ball from inside the area in the hands of German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (19).

Barcelona gradually imposed itself in the atmosphere of the match, and Torres received a ball inside the area from the left side, and it was the most dangerous opportunity when the Dutch international, returning to the squad after recovering from injury, Frenkie de Young, took advantage of a ball inside the area while he was on the ground, and hit it powerfully over the crossbar a few centimeters (33).

And Griezmann almost did it with a shot from close range, which Ter Stegen saved, before the defense dispersed it (35).

Torres succeeded in opening the scoring when he received a ball from Brazilian Rafinha at the edge of the area, so he prepared it for himself and hit it powerfully, creeping to the left of Jan Oblak (44).

Barcelona continued its advantage at the beginning of the second half, and Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski hit a ball from close range in Oblak's hands (46).

Oblak pushed Torres' powerful shot from outside the area before the defense dispersed it (47), and Gavi almost added the second goal, taking advantage of a trail inside the area, and hit a powerful creeping ball next to the right post (61).

Rafinha followed suit after a strong cross pass from Lewandowski hit his legs and was picked up by Oblak (72).

Atletico Madrid responded with a cross pass by substitute Alvaro Morata to Griezmann in front of the goal, so he played it with his heel, and Ter Stegen blocked it in two waves (73).

Lewandowski missed a golden opportunity to enhance his team's progress when he received a ball behind the defense, so he preferred to hit it with his right from a long distance, taking advantage of Oblak's exit from his den instead of passing it to the unattended Rafinha, who was in a better position than him to score the net (77).
Moroccan international striker Youssef Al-Nusairi continued his brilliance recently and led his team, Seville, to a valuable victory, defeating Villarreal 2-1 at home.

Sevilla advanced through striker Rafa Mir in the 34th minute, with a wonderful powerful shot from inside the area, following a pass from Suso, but Villarreal managed to equalize through defense pole Pau Torres early in the second half (57).

The new coach of Sevilla, Jose Luis Mendilibar, pushed Al-Nusairi in the 58th minute instead of Mir, so he succeeded in scoring the winning goal in the last fourth minute of stoppage time when he rose above everyone and followed his head with a ball from a corner kick that the Croatian captain Ivan Rakitic approached and housed it to the left of veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina Who just watched her hugging his net.

It is the eighth goal this season in La Liga for Nasri, who scored a brace from the hat-trick that the Andalusian team won over Manchester United, England, on Thursday, in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the European League competition, "Europa League".

Al-Nusairi raised his score to 51 goals in the colors of Seville in 147 matches in all competitions.

Sevilla rose to twelfth place with 38 points, compared to 47 for Villarreal VI, which suffered its second loss in a row.
And Valencia breathed a sigh of relief by defeating its host Elche, who finished in last place, 2-0.

Valencia decided the outcome of the match in its first half, with goals from Brazilian Samuel Lino (19) and Goncalo Verdo (42 fouls in his own goal).

It is the first victory for Valencia after three defeats and one draw, and the eighth this season, so he took advantage of Espanyol's draw with Cadiz negatively on Friday at the opening of the stage and got rid of the penultimate nineteenth place.

And Valencia rose to eighteenth place with 30 points behind Almeria because of the two direct confrontations, after the latter lost to Athletic Bilbao 1-2 on Saturday, and by two points against Espanyol, who fell to the nineteenth place before the last.

On the other hand, Elche suffered its fifth consecutive loss and its 21st this season, so his task of survival became more difficult after his score froze at 13 points.

Real Mallorca turned the tables on its guest, Getafe, when it fell behind with a goal by Borja Mayoral (23) to win with three goals scored by South Korean Lee Kang-in (57, 90 + 6) and Rayo (64).

Real Mallorca rose to tenth place, with 40 points, compared to 31 points for Getafe, the sixteenth.
