England Championship: Newcastle humiliates Tottenham by six in the Champions League seat struggle

Newcastle inflicted a humiliating defeat on its guest, Tottenham, 6-1, on Sunday, in a match in which the landlords scored the first five goals in the first 21 minutes, Sunday, in the thirty-second stage of the English Football League , thus resolving an important confrontation in the struggle for the Champions League positions.

Jacob Murphy (2 and 9) and Swede Alexander Isaac (19 and 21) scored a brace, and another for Brazilian Joelinton, so Newcastle achieved the second fastest quintet in the Premier League after 21 minutes.

Harry Kane responded with a goal at the start of the second half (49), before substitute Callum Wilson added the sixth (67).

And Newcastle raised its tally to 59 points, in third place, by goal difference, and a game more than Manchester United, the fourth who is absent from this stage because it was busy in the semi-finals of the cup against Brighton at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs' balance froze at 53 points in fifth place, noting that he played two matches more than the Red Devils.

Newcastle, led by coach Eddie Howe, and nearly a year and a half after the Saudi takeover, is close to returning to the Champions League for the first time since the 2002-2003 season.

This is the second loss in a row for Tottenham, led by Italian Christian Stellini, who has supervised the club since the departure of his compatriot Antonio Conte, in exchange for a draw and an orphan victory.

Stellini took out goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris at the half-time break, due to injury, according to the club's website, after the Frenchman conceded the second fastest quintet in the Premier League after Manchester City against Watford in September 2019 within 18 minutes.

"It was my responsibility to decide how we play," said Stellini after the match. "We decided to do it differently because of the injuries, but it was a mistake."

"It's very difficult to understand why the first 25 minutes were so bad. We weren't ready to play this kind of difficult game, to suffer, to control the spaces and win the doubles."

For his part, Lloris apologized to the fans, "It was very embarrassing. The first thing we have to do is apologize to the fans who traveled and watched the match. We missed the first half completely. The second half is another story, but it's a really painful (loss) today."

Regarding his injury, he said, "I don't know if it was the muscle, but it's about the hip. I felt something while clearing the ball, but we'll see tomorrow (Monday)."

This is the most severe loss for Spurs in the league since the defeat by Liverpool 0-5 in December 2013, and the biggest victory for Newcastle in the local championship since beating West Ham 5-0 in early 2011.

Newcastle opened the scoring when Joelinton penetrated gracefully into the area, dodged several defenders, and hit a creeping ball that was saved by Loris, but it was prepared in front of Murphy amid poor defensive control, so he followed it into the net (2).

Joelinton doubled the hosts' lead after Swiss defender Fabian Schar raised a wonderful ball from behind the mid-goal line behind the defenders, and the Brazilian reached the outskirts of the area, imposing it in a beautiful way, and Loris dodged and settled it into the net (6).

Murphy scored his second personal goal with a wonderful long shot from outside the area to the right of Lloris, who did not move a finger (9).

Isaac scored the fourth goal after Joe Willock passed an amazing ball with his instep from the left corridor to the Swede in the depths, so he penetrated into the area and hit it crawling to the right of the goalkeeper (19).

And the attacker completed the fifth two minutes later, with a creeping shot from the right side inside the area, after a back pass from Sean Longstaff (21).

With the start of the second half, Kane scored an honorary goal after he penetrated from the left side into the area, getting rid of Shar, who tried to catch him, and settled the ball with his left, creeping to the left of goalkeeper Nick Pope (49).

Seconds after they got off, Miguel Almiron and Wilson each contributed to the sixth goal, and the Paraguayan hit the goal. The ball bounced off Argentine Christian Romero, Spurs defender, and reached the Englishman, who followed it into the goal (67).

And West Ham achieved a big victory, in turn, at its host, Bournemouth, with a clean four, which was scored by Jamaican Michael Antonio (5), Brazilian Lucas Paqueta (12), Declan Rice (43), and Spanish substitute Pablo Fornals (72).

West Ham raised its score to 34 points in the thirteenth place, compared to 33 for Bournemouth in the fifteenth.
