Al-Markhiya snatched a fatal victory against Al-Shamal 2-1 on Wednesday in a postponed match from the Qatar Football League .

Al-Markhiya raised its score to 21 points, advancing to seventh place, on goal difference from Al-Ahly, far away from the penultimate position leading to the relegation playoff, to ensure to a large extent that it retains its seat in the first division for another season.

On the other hand, the balance of Al-Shamal froze at point 17 in the tenth place, with a difference of one point from Umm Salal, who held the penultimate position, to enter the relegation and playoff accounts three rounds before the end of the competition.

Al-Markhiya advanced through a penalty kick, which was won by Moroccan Ayoub Assab, after he was blocked by Al-Shamal goalkeeper Youssef Abdullah, to be implemented by his compatriot Idris Fatouhi successfully, giving his team the lead (25).

Al-Shamal equalized the score after less than five minutes, through Majed Muhammad, taking advantage of the Jordanian Ali Alwan's pass, which placed him in the face of the goalkeeper, to deposit it in the net (30).

Ayoub Assal snatched the winning goal in a fatal time, after he took advantage of Ali Al-Marri's pass and fired a powerful ball that hit the roof of the net in the 90 + 6 minute, giving his team the three points.
