Emir of Qatar Cup: Al-Sailiya eliminates Al-Duhail, the defending champion
Al-Sailiya thwarted Al-Duhail's campaign to defend its title when it eliminated it from the quarter-finals of the Emir of Qatar Cup in football, with a penalty shootout 5-4, after a 2-2 draw in regular time.

Al Duhail coach Hernan Crespo justified the loss due to the misfortune of his team.
Crespo said in a press conference, "We faced a lot of difficulties during the first half, especially in the rapid construction operations, and we also suffered in the speed of recovering the ball in the middle of the field."
He added, "But in the second half, we imposed great dominance on the course and wasted a torrent of easy chances due to a lack of concentration in the final touch."
For his part, Al-Zein, Al-Sailiya coach, said, "We played a great match against a strong team, and we were a strong match and we could have settled things in the original time.
