Spanish Championship: Seville, the underdeveloped, lost a precious victory at home

Sevilla, led by its new coach, Jose Luis Mendelibar, wasted a valuable victory at home to Celta Vigo and fell into a trap in stoppage time 2-2 on Friday in the opening of the twenty-eighth stage of the Spanish Football Championship .

Celta Vigo was temporarily ninth with 36 points, one point ahead of its former partner Osasuna, who hosts Elche on Saturday, while Sevilla strengthened its position in thirteenth place with 32 points.


The stage will be completed on Saturday with Espanyol’s meetings with Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad with Getafe, and Real Madrid with Villarreal, provided that Sunday meets Valladolid with Real Mallorca, Real Betis with Cadiz, Almeria with Valencia, and Rayo Vallecano with Atletico Madrid.


The stage ends on Monday with the Catalan Derby between leaders Barcelona and Girona XI.
