Middle Eastern boxing champion Adeeb El-Desouki 70 years ago

A picture taken in the year 1952 in the city of Jerusalem of the Palestinian boxing champion and its founder, the late great Adeeb Al-Desouki, owner of the golden paws, who was displaced by the Nakba from his city Jaffa, "the bride of the Mediterranean" to the Palestinian capital, the city of Jerusalem, in which he settled. After the Nakba, he moved to Kuwait in search of livelihood, and there he worked as a coach. For the Kuwaiti military team, and in Kuwait and Jordan, he spread this game as he spread it in Palestine, and the last club he trained in in the city of Jerusalem was the Muslim Brotherhood Club.

And in the days of the beautiful time of boxing, Al-Dasouki was the champion of the game for the Middle East, and Al-Dasouki accompanied a number of Palestinian boxing stars and trained with him and at his hands. We mention among them: the able boxer Ibn Al-Quds Shaban Al-Salaymeh, and the late Muhammad Al-Zarqa “Abu Hamza”, Yunis Ashour, the late Fayez Abu Dalo, the late Mahmoud Al-Maslouhi, the late Jalal Hamo, the late Zaid Ghoneim, Shehada Edkidek "Abu Steef", and among his most prominent students in Jordan was the hero of the Kingdom of Jordan Fahd Al-Tanbour.

The history and legacy of this able boxer was preserved by his son Youssef Al-Desouki, who trained boxing in Jordan, as well as his students who came after him.
