Japan's industrial output shrank over the past month

Tokyo - (dpa) - Economic data published today, Tuesday, showed that Japan's industrial output declined in April by 1.3% monthly, while analysts had expected a decline of only 0.2%.


According to Japanese government data, industrial output declined last month by 4.8% annually, after declining by 1.7% annually in March.


This comes at a time when the data expects industrial output to rise by 8.9% annually in June.
