Aden, Yemen - (Xinhua) - The Yemeni police announced today, Saturday, the occurrence of two separate incidents of suicide of two children in the city of Taiz, considering that the two incidents constitute a dangerous precedent in society.

The Security Media Center of the Yemeni Taiz Governorate Police stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by Xinhua News Agency, that the police received this evening two reports of two children committing suicide in the city of Taiz, the first in the Al-Jumhuri neighborhood (east of the city) and the other in the Birbasha area (south). west of the city).

An official source in the Taiz police stated that a twelve-year-old boy living in the Al-Jumhuri neighborhood committed suicide by wrapping a piece of cloth around his neck, which led to his death.

And the source continued, "A 16-year-old juvenile who lived in Al-Dar Birbasha neighborhood committed suicide by wrapping a rope around his neck in the yard of his house, which led to his immediate death."

The statement considered that "the two incidents are a dangerous precedent in society that requires standing up to it responsibly and firmly."

The police statement in Taiz confirmed, "It is making efforts to uncover the circumstances and calls on all official and community related parties to cooperate in studying and describing these facts to work out the necessary solutions and remedies."
