Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The Jerusalem Water Authority signed an agreement for consulting services for the wastewater treatment project in the Ramallah region (wastewater treatment plant - Ein Jaryut), with the consortium of the German company Tractable and GFA and the local partner, the Center for Engineering and Planning (CEP).

It was signed by the Director General of the Authority, Mr. Abdul Khaleq Al-Karmi, with Dr. Christoph Thun, representing the German company Tractable, in the presence of Eng. Shereen Al-Shelleh, Director of the Engineering and Planning Center, and a group of department directors and engineers of the Authority and the Engineering and Planning Center.

It is noteworthy that the project - which has been long-awaited as a result of several challenges - is a vital and strategic project for the region, as it will mainly serve the entire population of Beitunia, parts of Ramallah and some neighboring towns. This includes consulting services: reviewing, developing and building on previous studies, and preparing designs and permits necessary and preparing bid documents to build and operate a sewage plant to serve the area and supervise its implementation, in addition to the accompanying measures by providing technical support and preparing the necessary studies to establish a specialized sewage department in the authority with all its components, as this project is considered the first step to start managing the authority to serve sewage in the area its franchise.

For his part, the Director General of the Authority stressed the importance of the project, and praised the distinguished German support, as the value of the project is about 27 million euros, which were allocated and signed an agreement for the implementation of the station and the accompanying advisory services.

It is noteworthy that the authority referred the work of consulting services to the harmony between international companies and the Center for Engineering and Planning as a local partner, after a technical and financial evaluation of a bid that several international companies competed for.
