Iraq announces the export of more than 100 million barrels of crude oil

BAGHDAD - (Xinhua) - The Iraqi Oil Ministry announced today (Monday) the export of more than 100 million barrels of crude oil last July, with revenues exceeding ten billion dollars.


The ministry said in a statement that the total exports of crude oil for the month of July amounted to 102 million and 385 thousand and 49 barrels, with revenues amounting to 10.608 billion dollars, according to preliminary statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).


It explained that the total exports of crude oil for the month of July from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 99 million and 965 thousand and 94 barrels.


The quantities exported from the Kirkuk fields through the port of Ceyhan amounted to 2,344,536 barrels, according to the statement.
The statement added that the average daily quantities amounted to three million and 303 thousand barrels, at an average price of more than $103.60 per barrel.


Crude oil exports during the month of June amounted to 101 million and 191 thousand and 236 barrels, with revenues amounting to 11.505 billion dollars, according to the Iraqi Oil Ministry.


The Iraqi economy relies heavily on crude oil exports, which constitute more than 90 percent of the country's revenues.
