Director General of Customs and Excise: For the first time in the State of Palestine, a value-added tax law has been drafted in response to economic aspirations

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - Director General of Customs and Excise Louay Hanash said that for the first time in the State of Palestine, a value-added tax law is being drafted in response to national economic aspirations, in a way that achieves justice in tax collection, and it is in its final stages of implementation on the ground.

Hanash added, in an interview with Voice of Palestine Radio, today, Thursday, that the value-added tax amounted to 16%, which is the highest limit, and this law allows freedom for the national economy and control over some necessary commodities for citizens, and that the tax is not unified in the sense of liberation from the unified customs cover imposed by the Paris Agreement.

He explained that there are sectors that are completely exempted and others that are subject to a zero rate, such as tourism, the agricultural, plant and educational sectors, to encourage growth and prosperity, provided that the real estate, free professions, electronic trade and others sectors are regulated.
