Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said on Thursday evening, "Jabalia fell and with it Hamas collapsed physically and mentally."

The Israeli army statement said that Halevi "conducted a tour of the Jabalia area in the Gaza Strip yesterday, Wednesday, and conducted a situation assessment with the commander of the Southern Command, Yaron Finkelman, the commander of the 162nd Division, Itzik Cohen, and the brigade commanders."

He added: "The killing of Sinwar was not planned and was not random, but rather the result of military pressure in Rafah and the defeat of the Rafah Brigade."

Halevi stressed that their current goal is to defeat the Northern Gaza Brigade, noting that the current pressure brings them closer to more achievements.

Halevi hinted at other operations in Gaza, saying that they do not know what they will face tomorrow and where they will operate, saying: "Military pressure is important."
