Many lessons and considerations were reached by the results of the military strike launched by Hezbollah at dawn yesterday against Israel and its military bases, on the day of the Arbaeen march commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali, in response to the assassination of the leader Fouad Shukr on July 30th by an Israeli bombardment of one of the party’s sites in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
One of the most important lessons that Hezbollah provided in its response that targeted more than ten military bases, including some bases near Tel Aviv, is that it directed its fire towards Israeli military and intelligence facilities, to establish the equations between the two parties, in a clear response to the bombing of a Hezbollah military base that led to the assassination of Fouad Shukr, and Israel bears full responsibility, because it went to this extent of escalation, and from here Hezbollah’s response came according to clear controls and titles, the most important of which is not targeting civilians, as stated by the party’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah.
Another important lesson that Hezbollah taught Israel was that it dealt an additional blow that affected the Israeli deterrent power in the Middle East region, as it became clear that Israel is unable to open a new war front with Lebanon, for many reasons, the most important of which is not learning the lessons of October 7, and the inability to open two fronts at the same time, Gaza and Beirut.
Among the important lessons learned from this response is that Hezbollah chose a surprising timing that Israel did not expect, and kept it on alert for 26 days. It was Hezbollah that decided when the response would come, which came to continue supporting the Gaza Strip front and the sacrifices of the Palestinian people.
Another lesson that Hezbollah taught Israel and the United States was that it came despite the American threats, media hype, and military build-up provided by the Biden administration and the White House, to protect Israel. Thus, Hezbollah succeeded in breaking the complex of the American threat to the peoples and the Arab nation, in light of fighting the policies of submission, humiliation, and the creep towards Arab normalization with the usurping Israeli entity.
This strike, which targeted the depth of the Israeli entity, and resulted in the death of a soldier and the injury of several others in targeting a naval boat in the north, and the injury of several military sites, embodies the language of strategic challenge against the axis of extermination of our Palestinian people, led by the United States and Israel, and came as an alarm bell to the occupation, that the resistance is still capable of confronting the Israeli-American goals and policies seeking to control the Middle East region.
Israel's deterrent power has been eroding since October 7, and Hezbollah's strike yesterday has increased the fragility of this deterrent, which can only be restored by defeating Hezbollah and returning the settlers to the north. The statements issued by the entity's leaders about a preemptive strike are nothing but a false and failed narrative in which Israel is trying to appear strong before its public, which is well aware that it is unable to open a new war front in the north, and that it only wanted to absorb the strike, which will undoubtedly affect the war situation in the future, even if it is a limited strike with a short time frame.
