The last cry of the soul... displacement from the tents to the rubble... and from the rubble to the tents...
All paths have been cut off for the citizens of Gaza, the roads have been closed in their faces, and the doors have been locked. There is no imminent solution on the horizon, and no real and serious signs to stop the aggression. Fate has imposed on them the story of daily displacement. Today they move from the rubble and debris to the tents, and tomorrow when the tents are torn apart, they return to the streets and the rubble, and barely a small portion of them will get the tents.
Israel continues to strangle the Gaza Strip in the most difficult war in human history, forcing the residents of the Strip to leave the rubble left by the bombing, destruction and sabotage, to unknown places, in the middle of a march without an address, as the safe places in Gaza have ended, and all that remains is a tenth of the area of the Strip, in which approximately 90 percent of the population who have been displaced since last October live.
According to sources from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the war of extermination left more than 133,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than ten thousand missing amidst a massive famine.
For its part, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced yesterday that the occupation army had forced 250,000 citizens to be forcibly displaced during the current month of August through about 12 notifications and orders, and warned of the cycle of repeated forced displacement, flight and escape from the horror of military operations and the summer heat.
In turn, the head of the health emergency unit of the Save the Children International organization said that the Gaza Strip is an area surrounded by total destruction, and is inhabited by about two million citizens who have no place to live except the streets filled with rubble, garbage and sewage, presenting terrifying statistics about the killing of 14,000 children, and the examination of 13,000 children in the organization’s clinics who showed signs of severe shock, due to the massacres, destruction, and deliberate obstruction of the arrival of humanitarian aid, and the spread of polio, which is a disaster in itself.
There are many difficulties for families in Gaza that arise from the constant pain and permanent suffering. A displaced person says: Where do we go?
It is not just a hashtag, a question or a call. It is the essence of despair, oppression and humiliation. It is the last cry of the soul. A child asks his father on a new journey of displacement: Where are you taking me? He answers: I don’t know. Hold on with me so we can return. Hold on, that’s it.
Gaza...the story of questions searching for answers, and in the near future there are no answers available at all.
