Jordan condemns Israel's expansion in building settlements and legitimizing them
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, on Wednesday, the decisions and measures of the Israeli occupation government that "consecrate the occupation of Palestinian lands through the expansion and legalization of settlements, the latest of which was the approval of a plan to expand a new settlement outpost on Bethlehem lands, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in Danger, in a blatant challenge and serious violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution No. 2334, and the relevant agreements for the protection of cultural property and cultural heritage.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Sufian Qudah, stressed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and condemnation of such systematic Israeli measures that violate all rules of international law, Security Council resolutions, UNESCO resolutions and relevant international references, stressing that these condemned measures perpetuate the occupation and undermine all opportunities for achieving peace based on the two-state solution that fulfills the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.
