PALESTINE

Fri 02 May 2025 2:46 pm - Jerusalem Time

The Jerusalem Endowment Fund office was closed by Ben-Gvir's decision.

Israel's so-called National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, issued a decision to close the Jerusalem Endowment Fund's office in Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate said the decision to close the Jerusalem Waqf office is "an aggressive step that falls within the occupation's systematic policy to undermine the Palestinian presence in the occupied capital."

The Jerusalem Governorate emphasized that the allegations made by the occupation to justify this unjust decision, claiming that the Waqf and Fund are working for the benefit of the Palestinian National Authority, are completely false and baseless. The work of the Jerusalem Waqf and Fund is limited to social, humanitarian, and charitable work, and has no connection to any political activity. Their goal is to support the steadfastness of our people in Jerusalem and enable them to live with dignity in the face of the occupation's daily practices of oppression and ongoing violations.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' closure of the Jerusalem Fund and Endowment, an independent Palestinian institution in Jerusalem. The closure, the Ministry said, is a "clear extension of Israel's systematic policy of imposing new facts on the ground aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence and obliterating the Arab identity of occupied Jerusalem."
