PA PM : A Palestinian state will not be established without the Gaza Strip
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Muhammad Mustafa said that the Gaza Strip is an essential part of the national project, and that the State of Palestine will not be established without it.
Mustafa explained, during the meeting he held with civil society institutions at the headquarters of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, today, Wednesday, that the national project cannot be achieved without Gaza being strong, and that this is a national commitment that exceeds the humanitarian commitment.
He reiterated that the Gaza Strip is a top priority for the government's work, as it is keen to provide relief services and achieve national unity and reconstruction, while preparing programs to reintegrate employees into the Strip.
Mustafa said: The stage is difficult, but these difficulties are followed and accompanied by achievements, and you will see the light in the coming stages. The journey of struggle is long and passes through bumps and achievements, and the government’s goal is to advance and develop the achievements, and remove obstacles.
He continued: We do not want a faltering and weak state. We want an independent, sovereign state with a strong, productive society with all its components that works together to achieve achievement.
Mustafa pointed out that the government seeks to raise the level of public services provided to citizens in education, health, justice, and others, and to develop the work of institutions, improve their performance, and reform them internally to be more transparent, quality, and improve their relationship with the citizen.
Regarding the financial and economic situation, Mustafa pointed out that financial support declined significantly last year to about 300 million dollars, after it amounted to more than a billion dollars in previous years.
In turn, Minister of Women's Affairs Mona Al-Khalili said that this meeting works to strengthen the direct relationship between women's institutions and the government.
She added that the ministry will work in the coming period on the issue of laws, including human trafficking, especially in light of what is happening in the Gaza Strip, legal aid, and the law protecting the family from violence, by presenting the issues to each ministry separately.
It is noteworthy that a number of women’s federations and union institutions participated in the meeting, as they placed among their discussions the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against Gaza, and how to provide relief to citizens in the Gaza Strip in a developmental manner, and demanded that women’s issues be placed on the government’s priorities in light of the occupation’s aggression, and the necessity of taking into account women’s suffering. Jerusalem is taken into consideration, including women in work and protecting them from attrition within it.
