The number of killed journalists in Gaza rises to 204
Journalist Mohammed Bashir Al-Talmis (40 years old) was killed this morning, Tuesday, due to the serious injury he sustained on Monday evening, as a result of an Israeli raid that targeted him and a group of displaced persons, bringing the number of martyred journalists to 204 since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
Al-Talmas underwent abdominal surgery in an attempt to save his life, before doctors announced his death on Tuesday morning.
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced the martyrdom of the journalist editor of the Palestinian Press Agency (Safa), Muhammad Bashir al-Talmis, who succumbed to the serious injury he sustained on Monday evening when the occupation aircraft targeted a group of displaced persons in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, journalists have been subjected to continuous Israeli persecution, which constitutes a clear violation of international laws, in an attempt by the occupation to silence the voices that convey the facts of what is happening in the Gaza Strip to the world.
Over the past months, human rights and international organizations and journalistic investigations have called for strict measures to be taken to prevent the ongoing attacks and deliberate targeting of journalists. They also stressed the need to criminalize such crimes and impose penalties on those responsible, but that has not happened.
