"La France Insoumise" party: Within the next two weeks, we will recognize the State of Palestine
The head of the parliamentary bloc ofLa France Insoumise party, Mathilde Bannot, said that during the next two weeks, "we will recognize the State of Palestine."
Mathilde Bano added in a statement after revealing estimates of the voting results in the second round of the legislative elections: “In the next two weeks, we will raise the minimum wage to 1,600 euros, abolish retirement at the age of 64, and recognize the State of Palestine.”
The French BFM channel, citing data from polling stations, published preliminary voting results, indicating that the coalition of leftist parties (the New Popular Front, which includes the La France Insoumise party), is leading the elections in France, where it obtained between 175 to 205 seats in Parliament, and the “Together” coalition led by Emmanuel Macron temporarily occupies second place, as it obtained between 150 and 175 seats in Parliament.
The political parties representing the left, which include the Socialists and Greens from the moderate left, the Communist Party, and the Proud France Party led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon from the far left, agreed to form an alliance.
The leftist coalition pledged to cap the prices of basic goods such as fuel and food, raise the minimum wage to a net 1,600 euros a month, raise the wages of public sector workers, impose a wealth tax and make amendments to the inheritance tax.
The leftist coalition also pledged to stop new highway construction projects, adopt rules to combat the waste of drinking water, cancel the amendments to the retirement system implemented earlier by French President Emmanuel Macron, and work to return the retirement age to sixty.
He announced that he would end the austerity measures imposed under the European Union budget rules, and introduce amendments to common agricultural policies with Europe.
