Senior officials and intellectuals in Israel: Netanyahu is endangering the country and Congress must cancel his invitation
Former Israeli officials called on the US Congress to cancel the invitation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress next month.
In an article published in the New York Times and signed by former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo, writer David Grossman, Nobel laureate Aharon Shahanover, president of the Israeli Academy of Sciences David Harel, and Talia Sasson, a former senior official in the Attorney General’s Office wrote: “Netanyahu is leading Israel into the abyss with alarming speed, to the point that we fear losing the country we love.”
They also wrote that "Congress has made a terrible mistake — Netanyahu's appearance in Washington will not represent Israel and its citizens, but will be reward for his egregious and destructive behavior toward our country."
