Israeli occupation confirms that it "does not act against the Lebanese army" after strikes killed soldiers
The Israeli occupation army confirmed on Wednesday that it "does not act against the Lebanese army," after four Lebanese soldiers were killed in two Israeli raids.
The army said in a statement that it "bombed an infrastructure site in the Sarafand area (where a number of Hezbollah fighters were active)", adding that "the Israeli army carries out specific operations against Hezbollah and not against the Lebanese Armed Forces", according to Agence France-Presse.
The Lebanese army announced on Wednesday the death of a soldier in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, after three soldiers were killed on Tuesday evening in an Israeli raid targeting their position in the coastal town of Sarafand, about 40 kilometers from the border with Israel. The Israeli army said its forces were "examining information indicating that Lebanese army soldiers were injured in this strike," without referring to the other fatal incident mentioned by the Lebanese army. These strikes come amid fierce fighting in the south of the country between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, which began a ground offensive on September 30.
