Yedioth: Sullivan will ask Israel to return Qatar to play a central role in an exchange deal
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the visit of White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to the occupation on Sunday will witness the discussion of many files, including the issue of the stalled exchange deal negotiations.
The newspaper explained that Sullivan will ask the occupation to return Qatar to be a central player in these talks, after Israel shifted the center of gravity to Cairo.
It pointed out that Sullivan is expected to appeal to the occupation not to delay the transfer of tax funds to the Palestinian Authority, a step taken by Israel in protest against Palestinian movements, to issue arrest warrants at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and before the United Nations to raise the level of escalation.
In addition, it is expected that the occupation will be asked to agree to allow the integration of the Palestinian Authority into the reconstruction of the Strip, to allow the Saudis and Emiratis to join the bandwagon.
Another issue that is expected to be raised during the visit of Biden's senior advisor is the issue of delaying armament, which has raised tension between Washington and the occupation to a new level.
The newspaper indicated that occupation circles are circulating that the United States realizes that it was wrong in this regard, and is looking for a way to “come down from the tree.” One option is to provide us with weapons, with a pledge that we will not use heavy bombs in Rafah.
