Six Palestinian citizens sustained varying degrees of injuries and bruises today, Monday, as a result of a violent attack launched by extremist settlers on citizens' homes in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron. Local sources reported that about 30 heavily armed settlers stormed the village of Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta under the direct protection of occupation soldiers, after closing the main gate of the village and isolating it from its surroundings.
The attackers severely beat the unarmed residents, necessitating the provision of field treatment for the six injured. The attacks also targeted the home of citizen Salem Al-Hathalin, which the occupation forces had turned into a closed military zone for two days. This measure prevented family members from accessing their health facilities and livestock pens, leaving the livestock without food or care.
In a related context, groups of settlers vandalized the property of citizen Ayoub Al-Masri in the Khillet Al-Homs area, south of Yatta, where they cut the fence of his land and damaged the electricity wires of his home. These attacks coincide with similar assaults in the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, which resulted in four Palestinians being injured by rubber bullets and two with fractures during settlers' attempts to steal livestock under the eyes of the occupation forces.
For his part, the head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Minister Moayad Shaaban, revealed shocking figures documenting the occupation's violations, with the commission recording 11,074 attacks during the first half of this year. Shaaban explained that these attacks included land confiscation, settlement expansion, forced displacement, in addition to field executions and systematic destruction of Palestinian property.
Hebron Governorate topped the list of areas most exposed to violations with 2,224 attacks, followed by Ramallah and Al-Bireh and Nablus governorates with similar rates, then Bethlehem. The official report indicated that settlers alone carried out 3,488 attacks, which resulted in the martyrdom of 17 Palestinians in various governorates, and the displacement of 26 Bedouin communities, either wholly or partially, due to continuous intimidation.
In other areas of the West Bank, settlers continued attempts to storm homes in the village of Jalud, south of Nablus, while occupation forces prevented farmers from harvesting wheat crops in the villages of Beit Dajan, Salem, and Beit Furik. These developments coincide with estimates by the 'Peace Now' movement, which indicate the presence of about 750,000 settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, who carry out organized attacks aimed at imposing new geographical realities.
Documented statistics since October 8, 2023, point to a tragic reality in the West Bank, where 1,175 martyrs have fallen and about 13,000 citizens have been injured, while the number of detainees has exceeded 24,000. Observers confirm that the escalating pace of these attacks reflects a systematic policy adopted by the Israeli government, where the settler community now views Palestinian blood as a tool in political and electoral conflicts.
Occupation forces and settlers carried out a total of 11,074 attacks during the first half of 2026, indicating a dangerous escalation in the nature of the attacks.
