On charges of committing war crimes.. Complaint in France against French-Israeli settlers

The "Solidarity with Palestine" association in France filed a complaint today, Monday, against French-Israelis accused of complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity through their participation in and support for settlement activities in the territories occupied by Israel.

Their lawyer, Sarah Samour, stated that the complaint - filed with the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office specialized in crimes against humanity - identifies "6 individuals" who can be prosecuted.

The complaint specifically targets French-Israeli settlers and their organizations close to the Israeli far-right.

The association hopes that the complaint will open a legal front in France against Israeli settlement of Palestinian territories, which has been condemned by the United Nations.

The complaint is based on provisions of the French Penal Code that criminalize acts such as "deportation or forcible transfer of populations" and "persecution" and "apartheid" as "crimes against humanity" when committed "in execution of a premeditated plan against a group of civilians as part of a widespread or systematic attack."

The association believes that these settlers could be accused of complicity in a war crime for their participation in "Israel, as the occupying power, transferring part of its civilian population to the occupied Palestinian territory."

They also accuse them of crimes of "theft, extortion, and destruction of civilian property in the West Bank."

The lawyer stated that the use of these provisions is "the first of its kind," and she refused to disclose the names of the targets publicly before any potential legal action, "given the seriousness of the alleged crimes."

"Solidarity with Palestine in France," which advocates for the rights of the Palestinian people and supports the "Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions" (BDS) movement, also filed a complaint last July against two French-Israeli soldiers accused of committing violations in Gaza.

Alongside East Jerusalem, which Israel occupied and annexed, about 3 million Palestinians have lived in the occupied West Bank since 1967, alongside approximately 500,000 Israelis residing in settlements that the United Nations considers illegal under international law.

Australia: Israel's claim of waiting for the results of Gaza negotiations is unrealistic.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that Israel's claim that it is waiting for the results of negotiations regarding a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is "unrealistic."

Albanese added that Australia's position on recognizing the State of Palestine is a continuation of its long-standing policy of supporting a two-state solution.

He pointed out that the Palestinian people have a legitimate right and a long-standing desire to establish their own state, emphasizing the necessity of ending the "cycle of violence" in the Palestinian territories.

He went on to say, "Australia clearly wants to stop the loss of innocent lives, whether they are Israeli or Palestinian."

Albanese noted the Israeli government's ongoing support for the establishment and expansion of settlements in the West Bank.

He explained that Australia recognizes and sees the extent of the "tragedy and humanitarian disaster" ongoing in the Gaza Strip.

He continued: "The idea that Israel will sit down to negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza is not realistic."

The indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas regarding a prisoner exchange and ceasefire in Gaza continue to be stalled due to obstacles placed by Tel Aviv.

The Israeli opposition and families of prisoners accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging any chance of reaching a deal to end the war and return their loved ones in order to protect his political interests and remain in power.

Weeks ago, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on Qatar despite its role as a mediator, alongside Egypt and with American participation, in indirect negotiations between "Hamas" and Israel.

Albanese's statements come following his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine, coinciding with the opening of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Axios: Trump requested to hold a meeting with Arab leaders and Erdogan to discuss the Gaza issue.

Axios reported that the American president requested a meeting with a group of leaders from Arab and Islamic countries on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings in New York to discuss ways to end the aggression on the Gaza Strip, according to two Arab officials familiar with the meeting.

The site noted that the White House has already sent invitations to attend the meeting, which is expected to take place tomorrow, Tuesday.

It quoted officials as saying that leaders from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and the UAE have been invited to participate in the meeting with Trump.

It pointed out that the importance of the meeting comes just days before Trump hosts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on September 29.

Axios reported from sources that the White House wants the invited Arab and Islamic countries to participate in a post-war plan for Gaza and even send a stabilization force to replace the occupying army.

It said that "Arab leaders are expected to ask Trump to pressure Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza and refrain from annexing parts of the West Bank."

Sources indicated that Trump is expected to hold a separate meeting on the same day with leaders of the Gulf Arab states, with one of the main issues being their concerns following the occupation's aggression against Doha and targeting Hamas leaders.

Arab officials stated that the Gulf countries want guarantees from the Trump administration that such attacks will not be repeated.

"Day of Recognitions" is a turning point in the path of a nation rising from the ashes.

Dr. Raed Abu Badawieh: The recognitions solidify Palestine's advancement and Israel's global decline, but they remain closer to a political warning unless translated into practical steps.
Noor Awda: The recognitions are not a favor or a gift but a historical debt and a legal commitment, representing a confrontation to the Israeli plans supported by the U.S.
Khalil Shaheen: A "political bulwark" against Israeli plans, and the recognitions must be coupled with adopting a practical strategy to end the occupation.
Dr. Irini Said: The recognitions are an important political and legal pressure tool against the occupation, but the priority is to cease fire in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid.
Dawood Kuttab: The political and legal implications are significant, primarily affirming that the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 are not "disputed lands."
Firas Yaghi: Europe is trying to assert its position independently from the current U.S. administration, which provides unconditional support to Israel and its expansionist policies.

The recognitions of the Palestinian state continue, with three countries, most notably Britain, recognizing it yesterday, Sunday, and a series of other recognitions from several countries is expected today, Monday, in what has come to be known as "Recognition Day," coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly meeting and the resumption of the high-level international conference for the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution in New York, described as a pivotal step in the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Writers, political analysts, specialists, and university professors confirm in separate interviews with "Y" that this day carries special symbolism, as the simultaneous recognitions reflect a growing consensus within the international community on the necessity of treating Palestine as a state based on the 1967 territories, not merely as a "disputed issue" subject to negotiation, while Israel is increasingly viewed as a lawless state practicing genocide and settlement, undermining its political capital and bringing it closer to the image of a "pariah state."
They assert that the recognitions, despite their importance, remain more of a political warning than a practical transformation, but the greatest challenge remains translating this diplomatic momentum into tangible steps on the ground capable of imposing the two-state solution and ending the occupation in a practical and sustainable manner.
In parallel, they believe that "Recognition Day" is not just a passing event but represents the beginning of a political path that could redraw the equations of the conflict, as the international community, especially Europe, has come to realize that continuing to manage the crisis without a political horizon is no longer feasible, and that recognizing the state of Palestine constitutes a direct pressure tool on Israel to stop the genocide and its expansionist policies. However, the success of this step remains contingent upon the Palestinians' ability to unify their ranks and develop a unified strategy that capitalizes on the diplomatic momentum and transforms it into political and legal gains on the international stage.

Establishing the image of Palestine as a state under occupation

Dr. Raed Abu Badawieh, a professor of international law and international relations at the Arab American University, asserts that what has come to be known as "Recognition Day," which witnesses the announcement of several countries, mostly European, recognizing the state of Palestine, represents a pivotal event in the course of the Palestinian issue, not only at the level of diplomatic protocol but also in the context of deeper transformations in the international system and Israel's status within it.
Abu Badawieh explains that this day carries significant symbolic and political implications, as the simultaneous recognitions suggest that the international community, or at least a growing part of it, has decided to speak with one voice regarding Palestine after decades of marginalization and neglect.
This means, according to Abu Badawieh, establishing the image of Palestine as a state under occupation, not merely a "disputed issue" subject to negotiation, which grants the Palestinians renewed political legitimacy and strengthens their presence on the international stage.

Israel is gradually facing growing isolation

He points out that these recognitions are paralleled by a completely opposite image for Israel, which, although it still enjoys full American support politically, militarily, and diplomatically, is gradually facing increasing isolation, as it is viewed in an increasing number of international circles as a lawless state practicing an expansionist settlement project and committing crimes that reach the level of genocide. With each new recognition of Palestine, the legitimacy that Israel has long relied upon to justify its policies diminishes, bringing it closer to the image of a "pariah state."
At the same time, Abu Badawieh emphasizes that the road remains fraught with obstacles, as these European recognitions, despite their importance, do not alone possess the ability to effect tangible change on the ground, given the continued American umbrella that protects Israel within the Security

September in Gaza without olives.. Farmers harvest pain after the destruction of fields and trees.

The popular rituals have disappeared from the olive harvest season in the Gaza Strip for the third consecutive year, after the ongoing war caused the destruction of vast areas of fruitful fields, depriving thousands of farmers of the abundant livelihood they eagerly awaited at this time every year.

The occupation forces destroyed large areas of fields planted with fruitful olive trees, especially in the eastern regions of the Gaza Strip, while the seasonal presses did not escape the systematic Israeli destruction. Just as they were preparing at this time to operate their machines and massive stone mills to press the olive oil coming from the nearby fields, their owners found themselves today amidst displacement and homelessness, due to the widespread destruction in the sector, which affected their presses and facilities.

A deep sadness overwhelms Haj Hassan Hamdan, after losing his farm filled with olive trees in the Al-Qarara area east of Khan Younis, following its destruction by the occupation and the uprooting of its fruitful and ancient trees.

Hamdan says in a special interview that the rituals of harvesting the olive crop and pressing its oil have disappeared for the third consecutive year due to the ongoing aggression, adding: "My family used to gather at this time every year to pick the fruits; we awaited this time eagerly, but the war deprived us of celebrating the season after destroying everything we own."

Haj Hassan recalls, with tears nearly escaping his eyes, saying: "The season was a heritage and an identity for us, a clear expression of our connection to our land and our deep roots in it (...) For an entire week, the children, grandchildren, and relatives would gather to celebrate this occasion that we inherited from our ancestors. We would go early in the morning, have our breakfast, and then head out to harvest the olives, amidst an atmosphere of joy and happiness. When we finish gathering, we send a large portion of it to a nearby press to extract the pure oil known for its high quality, and then we save another part for home pickling."

Despite the good financial returns from the olive crop, this was not our main motivation. The olive harvest season became an opportunity to renew the expression of family bonds, attachment to the land, and a chance to teach the young ones the value of the land and encourage them to hold onto it after us.

Youssef Al-Zuraihi was not in a better situation than Haj Hamdan; they shared the pain and suffering of losing their farms and their annual source of joy under the treads of the occupation's tanks, which wreaked havoc and destruction in the farms and fields until they were destroyed, leaving them as remnants.

Al-Zuraihi says in a special interview that he is living a deep sadness these days, remembering his small farm filled with olive trees, which was destroyed by the occupation at the beginning of the war when it invaded the Hajar Al-Dik area, southeast of Gaza City.

Al-Zuraihi recalls, saying that his farm was not large; it contained a few dozen fruitful olive trees, but what pains him is the extinguishing of the season's flame that he had been accustomed to reviving for twenty years with special family rituals and an atmosphere of joy and happiness, starting in the morning and ending at sunset over several days.

The area of land planted with olives in the Gaza Strip before the war began about two years ago is estimated at around 44,000 dunams, including 35,000 dunams of fruitful trees and 9,000 dunams of non-fruitful trees.

According to figures from the Ministry of Agriculture in Gaza before the war that began in October 2023, Gaza produced about 35,000 tons of olives annually, all of which were for local use, including 4,000 tons designated for home pickling or factories, and 31,000 tons that were pressed in olive presses, but these quantities are subject to annual fluctuations based on production size.

There are about 40 olive oil extraction presses distributed across the Gaza Strip, including 32 modern (automatic) presses, 6 traditional (semi-automatic) presses, and 2 manual presses that rely on old stone.

The profession of olive pressing and oil extraction in the Gaza Strip becomes active after September 20 of each year, as farmers await light rain showers known as "the rains of the cross," but the peak of the season occurs around mid-October each year.

The Gaza Strip relies primarily on the agricultural sector to provide food for more than 2.4 million people living in all provinces; however, the disruption of this sector has negatively affected economic activity in terms of buying, selling, and livestock, especially in the animal and fish sectors.

A report from the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture stated that the occupation forces deliberately destroyed all agricultural lands in the Gaza

France is preparing, along with 10 other countries, to recognize the State of Palestine.

The wave of international recognition for the State of Palestine continues, as France prepares, along with 10 other countries, to officially announce its recognition during a summit held today, Monday, at the United Nations headquarters in New York to discuss the future of the two-state solution amid the bloody war on the Gaza Strip.

This anticipated recognition comes as a culmination of a diplomatic process that lasted for months, led by Saudi Arabia and France, aimed at exerting further pressure on Israel and linking the future of peace in the region to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated in an interview with CBS on Sunday, "If we want to isolate Hamas, then recognizing the Palestinian state and the accompanying peace plan is a prerequisite. The Palestinians want a homeland, and if we do not provide them with a political horizon, they will cling to Hamas as the only solution."

Paris expects small European countries such as Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, and San Marino to join it, bringing the total number to 11 new countries, thus increasing the number of states recognizing Palestine to 147 out of 193 UN member states, according to statistics.

One day before the summit, Sunday witnessed a significant development with the official recognition of the State of Palestine by Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, marking a shift in the positions of some of Israel's closest traditional allies.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that his country recognized the Palestinian state "to keep the hope of peace alive," emphasizing that the recognition is parallel to imposing additional sanctions on figures from Hamas.

For his part, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada is offering its partnership to build a peaceful future for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, while Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stressed that the recognition comes as part of a coordinated international effort to revive the two-state solution and establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the recognitions on Sunday, considering them a step towards "just and lasting peace," but he will not be able to attend the summit in person after the United States refused to grant him and his delegation entry visas.

In contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu escalated his rhetoric, vowing not to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state, describing the recognitions as "a threat to Israel's existence."

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that the world should not fear Israeli reactions, emphasizing that Tel Aviv continues "a policy aimed at destroying Gaza and annexing the West Bank."

With the addition of France and Britain, Palestine will have received recognition from 4 of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council (China and Russia recognized it since 1988), while the United States continues to oppose recognition, describing the move as "performative" and calling for "focus on serious diplomacy."

This step, which enjoys popular and official Libyan support, comes at a time when the fleet is heading towards a gathering point in the Mediterranean Sea, under close surveillance from Israeli reconnaissance aircraft.

The "Resilience Fleet" is the largest movement of its kind since the Freedom Flotilla incident in 2010, which was attacked violently by occupying forces at sea, resulting in the martyrdom of several activists aboard the "Mavi Marmara" ship.

The United Kingdom is preparing on Monday to lead an intensive diplomatic effort during the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, aimed at rallying international support for a "framework for peace" in the Middle East.

This British move follows the announcement by Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday that his country officially recognizes the State of Palestine, in a coordinated step with Canada, Australia, and Portugal.

Starmer justified the decision by stating that it aims to "revive hope for peace for Palestinians and Israelis," and to maintain the possibility of achieving a two-state solution.

According to the British news agency "PA Media," British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper will lead these efforts in New York.

Cooper stated that she will use the summit to address "the suffering of civilians in Gaza devastated by war," and will seek to strengthen "the international consensus on our path to peace in the Middle East."

The "framework" that Britain is expected to propose is believed to include calls for a permanent ceasefire, the establishment of an international mechanism for the reconstruction of Gaza, and a return to a serious political track leading to the end of the occupation.

The timing of this diplomatic initiative, coming from significant Western powers, indicates a major shift in the international community's approach to the conflict.

"Axios": Qatar demands an Israeli apology before resuming mediation efforts regarding Gaza.

The American news site "Axios" reported on Saturday that Qatar is conditioning its continued role as a mediator in the ceasefire talks and the deal for the release of detainees in Gaza on a public apology from Israel for the raid that targeted Hamas leaders while they were meeting in Doha to discuss the recent proposal from the U.S. president to achieve the deal.

Quoting sources familiar with the talks, the site reported that this demand, raised by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, was brought up during U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's discussions this week in Jerusalem and Doha, as well as during a meeting of U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in London with Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.

Although Doha expects an Israeli apology to move forward with the negotiations, sources indicated to the site that Qatar would be willing to show some flexibility in the wording of the apology, given the political sensitivity of the matter for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel launched its aggression against Qatar on September 9 with the aim of undermining the negotiations on the U.S. proposal.

In its aggression, Israel assassinated six people, including Hamam, the son of a Hamas leader, and senior Hamas negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, as well as a Qatari officer, and it has been confirmed that the Israeli aggression failed to kill Hamas leaders.

Qatar has hosted the political leadership of Hamas since 2012, but it is also a key ally of the United States and hosts the largest U.S. military base in the region.

It has also been the main mediator—along with the United States and Egypt—in long-term negotiations for the release of hostages held by Palestinian resistance movements in Gaza, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, and a post-war plan for the sector.

The attempt by Israel to assassinate Hamas political leaders has sparked outrage from Qatar, in addition to international condemnation.

According to "Axios," an unnamed senior Israeli official told the site that Netanyahu realized he miscalculated the extent of the repercussions that the strike would cause and downplayed them. According to the report, Qatar may not demand that Netanyahu apologize for the bombing of Hamas leaders, but rather for the unintentional killing of a Qatari security officer. Axios added that Israel is also expected to commit to not violating Qatar's sovereignty again in the future.

The report comes amid last-minute efforts to revive ceasefire negotiations and the hostage deal, which were already at an impasse before the strike on Hamas officials in Doha.

Reports had indicated that the United States had presented a proposal before the strike that included the release of all hostages on the first day of the truce, and if subsequent talks were fruitful, an end to the war in Gaza. Hamas stated that its leaders were discussing the offer when the airstrike was carried out. Last month, Hamas announced its acceptance of a U.S. proposal for a partial agreement that Israel had sought for several months after rejecting previous offers for a gradual truce for the prisoners.

The movement confirmed its readiness to end the war, but it did not accept Israel's conditions, which include the release of prisoners, disarming Hamas, disarming Gaza, and forming a new government for the sector that does not include Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.

Five people, including three children, were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike targeting the city of Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, marking a new violation of the ceasefire.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported in a statement that "the Israeli enemy's airstrike with a drone on the city of Bint Jbeil resulted in an updated toll of 5 martyrs, including three children, and two others were injured."

Earlier on Sunday, the National News Agency of Lebanon reported "critical injuries, including children, in the airstrike carried out by an enemy drone in the city of Bint Jbeil," before the new toll was issued.

The Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes over the past three days on towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and injuries to others.

In October 2023, Israel launched an aggression against Lebanon that escalated in September 2024 into a full-scale war, resulting in the deaths of more than 4,000 people and injuries to around 17,000 others.

Despite reaching a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in November 2024, the latter has violated it more than 4,500 times, leading to the deaths of at least 279 people and injuries to 624 others, according to official data.

In defiance of the agreement, Israel continues to occupy 5 Lebanese hills that it seized during the last war, in addition to other areas it has occupied for decades.

Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar stated in a post on the American platform 'X': 'The recognition of a Palestinian state by Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom is an empty declaration that reeks of anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel,' he claimed.

He added that 'the most appropriate response is to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria (the biblical name for the West Bank) and the Jordan Valley.' Meanwhile, the extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir considered the recognition 'a reward for the Palestinians,' calling for immediate action to impose 'sovereignty over the West Bank and a complete crushing of the Palestinian Authority.'

He announced that he would present a proposal on this matter to the government at the next meeting. The Speaker of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) Amir Ohana also attacked the British Prime Minister, describing him as a 'hypocrite,' according to the Hebrew broadcasting authority.

In contrast, Minister for Development of the Negev and Galilee Isaac Wasserlauf went so far as to deny the existence of the Palestinian people entirely, stating in a post on the American platform 'X' that 'the land of Israel belongs only to the Israeli people – there is no Palestinian people and no Palestinian state.'

For his part, the leader of the opposition 'Blue and White' party Benny Gantz considered that 'recognition of the Palestinian state strengthens Hamas and the Iran axis, prolongs the war, and reduces the chances of recovering the hostages (Israeli prisoners).'

He added in a post on the American platform 'X': 'Western leaders, who care about promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, are expected not to succumb to internal political pressures, but to increase pressure on Hamas to release the hostages (Israeli prisoners) and end its control of governance in Gaza.'

This Israeli rhetorical escalation comes at a time when the circle of international recognition of Palestine is widening, as Canada, Australia, and the UK announced earlier today their recognition of the State of Palestine, coinciding with the opening of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

A year after the International Court of Justice's opinion: UN experts urge countries to confront inaction regarding the illegal Israeli occupation.

UN experts urged member states to take practical steps to end the illegal Israeli occupation and the ongoing attacks against Palestinians, on the first anniversary of General Assembly resolution A/RES/ES-10/24 based on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice issued in July 2024.

The experts stated in a joint statement that they are "appalled" by the continuation of the occupation despite the overwhelming support for the UN resolution, emphasizing that the court clearly stated that Israel's presence in the occupied territories is illegal, and that all countries should not recognize it or provide any form of support to it.

The statement noted that seven hundred days of Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories have resulted in the deaths and injuries of at least 230,000 Palestinians, while 2.1 million civilians in the besieged sector are suffering from severe hunger, and all of Gaza has turned into rubble, with all its residents subjected to repeated forced displacement.

The occupation's foreign ministry attacks Britain and accuses the "Brotherhood" of being behind the decision to recognize a Palestinian state.

The occupation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has escalated its rhetoric towards the United Kingdom, in light of potential British moves to recognize a Palestinian state, describing any such step in an urgent statement as a "reward for Hamas."

The Foreign Ministry linked this direction to what it considered encouragement from the "Muslim Brotherhood in the United Kingdom," in a direct accusation aimed at associating the potential British decision with ideologically motivated anti-entity motives, and stripping it of diplomatic legitimacy.

These hardline statements from within the occupation government reflect a firm rejection of the diplomatic path supported by international powers to resolve the conflict. They also represent an escalation in the official discourse that links the establishment of a Palestinian state to an existential threat to the occupation, pushing towards unilateral measures that could undermine any future opportunity for a political settlement based on a two-state solution.

In response to international recognition, Ben Gvir demands to "immediately annex the West Bank and completely crush the Palestinian Authority."

In the strongest reaction from within the Israeli occupation government, the extremist Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, described the decision by Britain, Canada, and Australia to recognize the State of Palestine as a "reward for murderers," calling for immediate and decisive countermeasures.

Ben Gvir's fiery statements come in the wake of the historic coordinated announcement made earlier today, Sunday, by Britain, Canada, and Australia, officially recognizing the State of Palestine.

Ben Gvir, who leads the far-right "Jewish Power" party, considered the decision of the three countries to be a surrender to what he described as "terrorism."

Britain, Canada, and Australia announce their recognition of the State of Palestine.

The governments of Britain, Canada, and Australia announced today, Sunday, their official recognition of the State of Palestine, in a historic move described as a victory for international justice and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

The three countries confirmed in separate statements that the recognition comes in commitment to the principles of international law and United Nations resolutions, and embodies the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated in his statement that this recognition is "a step towards reviving hope for a two-state solution," emphasizing that "this step is not a reward for Hamas, which has no role in the future Palestinian government."

He added that the United Kingdom will impose further sanctions on Hamas leaders.

For his part, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that his country "supports the two-state solution as a way to achieve peace between Israelis and Palestinians," noting that this recognition "comes at a sensitive time, as the international community seeks to find a just and lasting solution to the conflict."

Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that "Australia recognizes the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state," adding that this recognition "reflects Australia's ongoing commitment to the two-state solution, which is the only path to achieving peace and security in the region."

A Palestinian authority warns of the repercussions of Israel's denial of treatment for 3 detainees.

The Palestinian Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners warned on Sunday of the repercussions of the Israeli 'Gilboa' prison administration's denial of treatment to three Palestinian detainees.

This came in a statement from the authority after its lawyer visited several sick Palestinian prisoners in the prison located in northern Israel.

The authority stated that 'the prisoner Bilal Othman (48 years old) from the town of Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah (northern West Bank), suffers from chronic kidney disease and has one kidney due to an injury sustained in 1994. He complains of blood clotting and gout.'

It explained that Othman, 'who has been detained since 2002 and sentenced to 15 life sentences and an additional 35 years, contracted scabies and suffers from severe itching, and boils have begun to appear. The prison administration refuses to provide him with the necessary treatment.'

The authority pointed out that 'prisoner Othman was burned by the guards, as hot water was poured on his left hand. He also suffers from a broken ring finger on his left hand, as the prison's suppression unit stormed the room, beat everyone inside, and struck him with an iron rod on his back, legs, and arms, which led to his finger being broken, and no treatment was provided to him.'

It highlighted the suffering of prisoner Muhammad Daraghmeh (34 years old) from Tubas, who suffers from scabies and severe itching, and complains of pain from herniated discs in his back and neck, having lost about 15 kilograms of weight.

It stated that prisoner Muhammad Sarhan (25 years old) from the Far'a camp south of Tubas, who is held administratively, suffers from scabies, severe itching, and the spread of boils in various parts of his body.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated that Israeli prison administrations have expanded their use of electric shocks and rubber bullets against Palestinian prisoners in their jails, amid the spread of scabies in the Negev and Ofer prisons.

This came in a statement from the club, based on visits conducted by its lawyers to dozens of Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, in seven Israeli prisons during the first half of September.

Following visits to more than 20 detainees in the Negev prison, the club stated that 'most of them either contracted scabies and are still suffering from its effects, or have relapsed after recovery.'

Alongside the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army has intensified its operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, while Israeli settlers have escalated their attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,042 Palestinians and injuries to about 10,160 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 19,000, according to official Palestinian data.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,283 deaths and 166,575 injuries, most of whom are children and women, along with a famine that has killed 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
