Dozens of dead and 900,000 are still steadfast in the city of Gaza.

Continuing the targeting of Palestinian civilians and the destruction of buildings and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, medical sources reported that at least 45 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on the strip since dawn today, including 32 in Gaza City, and 5 others waiting for aid near aid centers in northern Rafah.

In a related matter, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that the "escalation of violence" near the Al-Rantisi and Al-Oyun hospitals in Gaza has led to their suspension and rendered them unsafe. Ghebreyesus explained that patients and staff were forced to flee from the Al-Rantisi and Al-Oyun hospitals in Gaza. It is worth noting that Al-Rantisi Hospital is the only specialized children's hospital in Gaza, while Al-Oyun Hospital was the only facility providing specialized eye care.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has stated that the delay in fuel delivery threatens to halt electricity generators in hospitals and disrupt health services. Displacement... and Israeli failure. In the context of the Israeli occupation's pressure on citizens through continuous shelling and the detonation of explosive-laden vehicles amid residential buildings in Gaza City, the government media office clarified that 900,000 citizens are still steadfast in the city "and are holding on to their right to remain," according to the media office's description.

Palestinian shot dead by occupation forces in the northern West Bank

A Palestinian young man was martyred on Wednesday by the bullets of the occupation army near the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, while several Palestinians were arrested in various locations across the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated in a statement: "The martyrdom of young Ahmad Jihad Barahmeh (24 years old) by the bullets of the occupation in the town of Anza south of Jenin."

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society had previously stated in a statement that its teams in Jenin dealt with a serious gunshot wound to the chest of a young man from the town of Anza south of Jenin.

Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli army force stormed the town of Anza and began a search and arrest operation against Palestinians and interrogating them.

In this context, the Israeli army carried out a series of incursions into several cities and towns in the West Bank early Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the army has been conducting a wide military operation in the town of Turmus'ayya north of Ramallah since early Wednesday, carrying out a campaign of arrests and interrogations with residents after searching their homes.

The occupation army stormed the city of Al-Bireh and the towns of Al-Zawiya and Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit Governorate, and arrested several Palestinians during the incursions into the towns of Sa'ir, Yatta, and Halhul in Hebron Governorate.

Alongside the genocide in Gaza, the occupation army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,044 Palestinians and injured about 10,160, in addition to arresting more than 19,000.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,382 dead and 166,985 injured, most of whom are children and women.

The Western collective recognition of the Palestinian state: between symbolism and political pressure

Mustafa Ibrahim

Mustafa Ibrahim

Opinion Writer

In recent months, the international arena has witnessed rapid movements towards recognizing the Palestinian state, in a step described as a strategic shift in the Western stance on the Palestinian issue. Following the ongoing Gaza war for two years, which has resulted in crimes of genocide, starvation, and siege, Britain, Australia, Canada, and Portugal officially announced their recognition of Palestine, joining a growing diplomatic wave. These recognitions, despite their symbolic nature, open the door to a new equation in the relationship between the Israeli occupation, Palestine, and the international community.

This step was not isolated. Last year, European countries such as Spain, Norway, Ireland, and Slovenia recognized the Palestinian state, followed this year by Britain, Canada, Australia, Portugal, and Malta. Thus, Palestine now enjoys recognition from 145 countries out of 193 UN member states, which is about three-quarters of the international community.

Despite this momentum, the European scene remains divided: Sweden recognized Palestine in 2014, followed by a second wave in 2024, and a third wave in 2025. However, pivotal countries like Germany and Italy refuse to take this step, adhering to the American position that rejects any talk of a Palestinian state. This division reveals that recognition remains a political tool more than a binding international consensus.

From a legal perspective, international law professor Roman Luboff explains that recognition is "one of the most complex issues in international law," as it remains a sovereign decision for each state without a central mechanism to register it. Philip Sands, a British-French law professor, considers recognition a "game changer," as it places Palestine and Israel on equal footing in dealings under international law, even if it does not directly lead to a change in the balance of power on the ground.

Despite the expanding recognition, the biggest challenge lies in the limited practical outcomes. The West, so far, has not linked this step to any real sanctions or pressures on Israel, making recognition closer to a symbolic stance or political message rather than a tool for changing the ground reality.

Israel, for its part, has shown no willingness to respond positively to these developments. On the contrary, the Israeli government has escalated its rhetoric and actions: expelling Australian and Norwegian diplomats and accelerating the pace of annexation in the West Bank. In fact, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently hinted at severing Palestinian banks from the Israeli economic system, which some Western diplomats described as a "nuclear bomb" that could push the region towards a wide political and security explosion.

The American position remains the main obstacle to transforming Western recognition into effective policy. Washington, along with its direct allies like Germany and Italy, completely rejects the idea of a Palestinian state, considering that any step in this direction undermines Israel's security. This position limits the impact of recognition and reflects the limits of Europe's and Commonwealth countries' ability to change the rules of the game without American cover.

Despite the limited direct results, these recognitions have implications that cannot be ignored, particularly regarding Israel, as recognition places it in an increasingly isolated position in international forums, with the risk of escalating European reactions, especially if it proceeds with a formal annexation of areas in the West Bank. Such a step could push the European Union to reconsider free trade agreements or restrict economic cooperation, which would exert direct pressure on the Israeli economy.

Recognition enhances Palestine's international legitimacy and grants it a stronger position in UN institutions and international courts. However, it does not stop settlement activities, lift the siege on Gaza, or halt the bombardment. Legitimacy on paper does not necessarily mean protection on the ground.

President Mahmoud Abbas has not ceased to emphasize the implementation of all commitments and reforms that the State of Palestine has pledged, while Palestinians doubt the Palestinian Authority's ability to bring about real changes in the Palestinian system without presenting any commitments that open a national discussion and convince the general Palestinian public that the upcoming phase will establish a Palestinian system committed to democracy, peaceful transfer of power, and the rule of law.

There is a fear of the continuation of the current state of stagnation and the persistence of policies based on the interests of the upper class linked to the Palestinian leadership, and the state of denial it lives in.

Will the Palestinian leadership carry out reforms based on the will and interests of the Palestinians rather than on European conditions for renewing the Palestinian political system?

The anticipated speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly will reflect the extent of the pressures he faces. Following the expansion of the wave of recognitions and the

Trump offers Arab and Muslim leaders a plan to end the war in Gaza.

U.S. President Donald Trump met on Tuesday with leaders from the Arab and Islamic worlds on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City to discuss ending the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, repeatedly describing it as "his most important meeting."

Trump told the press at the beginning of the meeting: "We want to end the war in Gaza. We will end it. Maybe we can end it now."

He added: "I have held several meetings, and this is the most important meeting for me because we will end something that should never have started."

The meeting was attended by leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Trump stated that the meeting included "all the major players except Israel, but that will be the next meeting," referring to his planned meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister at the White House next Monday.

Trump presented the eight leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries with an American plan regarding the sector to end the Israeli genocide in Gaza, without any details being released about the contents of the plan.

As he left the meeting venue, Trump remarked: “My meeting with Arab and Muslim leaders about Gaza was great,” without further elaboration.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with unlimited American military, political, and diplomatic support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 65,000 deaths, 166,000 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and a famine that has killed 442 Palestinians, including 147 children, and has almost completely destroyed Gaza.

Trump had called in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly for an immediate end to the war in Gaza. He stated in his speech at the UN, "Those who support peace must unite in demanding the release of the hostages."

Trump added, "Some members of this body (the United Nations) seek to recognize a Palestinian state unilaterally as if they are encouraging the continuation of the conflict. The rewards will be very great for Hamas terrorists for their brutal acts."

The U.S. president described Iran as "the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism," asserting that he would not allow it to possess nuclear weapons, and he called for the destruction of biological weapons and a halt to nuclear development.

Trump harshly criticized the United Nations, considering that it has not stood by the United States to stop wars, pointing out that the process of building the organization's headquarters was marred by corruption. He also stated that he ended seven wars, some of which lasted nearly three decades, and negotiated trade deals with many countries.

U.S. President Donald Trump said during a meeting with leaders of Arab and Islamic countries, including Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, that his country will work to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Trump added that this meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, represents "the most important meeting I've ever had." He clarified at the beginning of the meeting that "this meeting will be important, and we will discuss ending the war, and perhaps we will end it now."

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Trump's meeting with leaders of Islamic countries regarding Gaza was "very fruitful." Turkey, a member of NATO, has strongly criticized the Israeli attacks on Gaza, describing them as reaching the level of genocide.

In his remarks to reporters in New York following the meeting, Erdoğan said that a joint statement from the meeting would be issued and that he is "pleased" with its outcomes, but he did not go into details.

Recognizing Palestine confuses the occupation.. Is Netanyahu risking annexation despite warnings from his allies?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finds himself in an escalating political and diplomatic predicament following the recognition of the Palestinian state by Britain, France, and other European countries.

The Guardian published a report prepared by Emma Graham-Harrison, stating that Benjamin Netanyahu rushed to condemn the recognition of a Palestinian state by many of Israel's historical allies, but the Prime Minister may struggle to determine how to translate rhetoric into tangible responses.

Harrison added that Netanyahu's options may be more limited than his supporters would like to believe. He has repeatedly threatened to annex occupied Palestinian territories and take unilateral actions against countries that joined the wave of recognition.

She pointed out that officially claiming part or all of the West Bank would jeopardize the Abraham Accords, the historic agreement that normalized relations with regional powers, including the United Arab Emirates.

Harrison continued that the agreement is one of the most significant achievements of foreign policy during Donald Trump's first presidency, and it has been mentioned in the nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize that Netanyahu publicly aspires to, as well as being one of his notable accomplishments.

She added that the UAE, one of his key partners, has already stated that annexation is a "red line," and the collapse of the agreement poses a significant risk of alienating Netanyahu's most important supporter.

While Israel chose a unilateral response to Ireland, Norway, and Spain when they recognized a Palestinian state last year, including withdrawing ambassadors.

She noted that former Israeli diplomats said that doing the same now, as many key allies have followed suit, would be much more complicated and could harm Israel far more than its objectives.

She continued that this would accelerate Israel's trajectory towards the isolated "great Sparta" status that Netanyahu celebrated last week before retracting it after public outrage and economic warnings.

She pointed out that Alon Liel, a former diplomat who served as Israel's ambassador to South Africa, said: "I think Netanyahu is in a very difficult predicament. Israel cannot not respond, and Israel cannot respond wisely. The government is about to discuss the mistakes that should be made."

She continued that the Jewish New Year, celebrated on Monday and Tuesday, and the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meeting have given Netanyahu a chance to catch his breath while he considers his options.

Netanyahu had said that his response to Britain, France, and other countries would come after his meeting with Trump, which will take place after the American president meets with Arab leaders in New York. Before leaving, Netanyahu called for a meeting of the Israeli security cabinet to discuss potential responses to the recognition, according to Israeli media.

Harrison continued that his actions come as a clear indication of concerns about the risks of annexation, as the strongest supporters of this approach—the far-right ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich—were not invited, along with the future of the Abraham Accords that Trump and Joe Biden hoped to expand to include Saudi Arabia.

Many members of the Trump family and his allies have deep financial ties in the region.

She emphasized that internal political pressures regarding the corruption trial and upcoming elections may outweigh Netanyahu's concerns about antagonizing Trump, as Alon Pinkas, another former Israeli diplomat, stated.

Pinkas, who held previous positions including Consul General in New York, said: "Netanyahu two or three years ago would not have dared to annex anything. Netanyahu in September 2025 is mentally disturbed, detached from reality, suffering from a severe case of delusions of grandeur [about the idea that he is] redrawing the regional map, afraid of elections, afraid of his trial [on corruption charges]. If all these things point to partial annexation, he might actually do something."

Harrison noted that within Israel, the debate has swung confusingly between insisting that recognition is an insignificant gesture towards an empty symbol, and the anger towards the countries that moved forward. Across most of the Israeli political spectrum, from the far right to center-left leader Yair Golan, the step of recognizing the Palestinian state has been condemned as a "reward for terrorism."

But even if a sovereign Palestine remains more of an idea than a reality, recognition has profound legal and diplomatic implications.

The British recognition carries a special diplomatic and historical weight given the role Britain played in paving the way for the establishment of the State of Israel with the Balfour Declaration in 1917.

Liel said: "I see it as more than just a bilateral event; it should be understood from the historical perspective of the Balfour Declaration. It is a kind of correction of the British historical role."

American efforts to renew Qatari mediation regarding Gaza

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported, citing sources, that the Qatari track in the negotiations has been stalled since the Israeli attack on Doha.

The sources added that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff is trying to persuade senior officials in Qatar to resume their active role in the negotiations, noting that the United States is attempting, following President Donald Trump's speech at the United Nations today, to renew Qatar's mediation regarding Gaza.

On September 9, Israel bombed residential headquarters of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Doha, resulting in the martyrdom of 5 Palestinians and one member of the Qatari internal security, which sparked widespread Arab and international condemnation.

In his speech today before the United Nations General Assembly, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stated that the Israeli attack targeting the political leaders of Hamas in Doha was an Israeli attempt to obstruct the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

On Monday, the spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, stated that the Israeli attack on Qatar was an attack on sovereignty and the principles of mediation and peace.

Al-Ansari added that the Israeli aggression targeted the principle of mediation between adversaries and resolving the conflict through peaceful means, pointing out that it was known to all parties that those who were attacked were discussing the proposal of U.S. President Donald Trump in hopes of recovering the prisoners.

The spokesperson considered that the attack targeting a residential area in Doha puts all agreements made in the region at risk, affirming that Qatar is a platform for mediation that operates around the clock.

Hamas denies Trump's claim of its refusal to reach an agreement and holds Netanyahu responsible.

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" on Tuesday denied the statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who claimed that the movement is the one rejecting ceasefire offers in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "the sole obstacle to all attempts to reach an agreement."

This came in a statement from the movement in response to what was said in the U.S. president's speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, in which he stated that he is seeking "to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza," claiming that "Hamas has repeatedly rejected all offers."

The movement stated in its announcement that it "has never been an obstacle to reaching an agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and has provided all the necessary flexibility and positivity for that purpose."

It added: "The U.S. administration, the mediators, and the whole world know that the war criminal Netanyahu is the sole obstacle to all attempts to reach an agreement."

The Israeli opposition and families of prisoners accuse Netanyahu of sabotaging any chance to reach a deal to end the war and return their loved ones, in order to preserve his political interests and remain in power, despite Hamas's agreement to the mediators' proposals for both partial and comprehensive deals.

Hamas continued in its statement: "The terrorist Netanyahu has turned against the agreement from last January, and completely ignored the proposal from (U.S. envoy Steve) Wietkoff, which the movement announced its acceptance of, before committing his heinous crime by bombing the meeting place of the movement's delegation for negotiations in Doha while discussing Trump's latest paper."

On August 18, Hamas agreed to a proposal from the mediators regarding a partial ceasefire and prisoner exchange, but Israel did not respond to the mediators, despite the terms matching a previous proposal put forth by Wietkoff that Tel Aviv had accepted.

On September 9, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on the Hamas delegation in Doha while they were discussing a proposal from the U.S. president regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, which Qatar condemned and affirmed its right to respond to this aggression.

At that time, Hamas announced the survival of its negotiating delegation led by its chief in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, from an assassination attempt, and the killing of his office director Jihad Labad, his son Hamam al-Hayya, and three companions.

In its statement today, Hamas called on "the U.S. administration to side with the values of justice, and to intervene positively to compel the terrorist occupying government to stop the crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement against our Palestinian people, and to lift its political and military cover from this brutal war."

This comes as the Israeli army continues its assault on the city of Gaza since August 11, in an operation later named "Gideon's Chariots 2," which includes the demolition of homes using explosive robots, artillery shelling, random gunfire, forced displacement, and ground incursions.

With U.S. support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,382 deaths and 166,985 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.

Hamas rejects Trump's accusations and praises the outcomes of the two-state solution conference.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) rejected today, Tuesday, the accusations made against it by U.S. President Donald Trump before the United Nations General Assembly, claiming that it obstructed reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The movement also welcomed the New York conference's call for a two-state solution to turn positions into actions that compel the occupation to ceasefire and withdraw from Gaza and exchange prisoners.

In a statement, the movement affirmed its support for positions calling for the cessation of settlement activities, ending the occupation, and establishing a fully sovereign Palestinian state, emphasizing that the weapon of resistance is a national right guaranteed by laws and regulations until the occupation is removed and the Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem is established.

It stated that it "has never been an obstacle to reaching an agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and has shown all the necessary flexibility and positivity in this regard."

The movement confirmed that the U.S. administration, mediators, and the entire world know that the "war criminal" (Israeli Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu is the sole impediment to all attempts to reach an agreement.

It continued, "The terrorist Netanyahu has turned against the agreement from last January, and completely ignored the proposal from (U.S. envoy) Steve Wittekov, which the movement announced its acceptance of, before committing his heinous crime by bombing the meeting place of the movement's delegation for negotiations in Doha while discussing Trump's latest paper."

Earlier today, President Trump stated during his speech before the United Nations General Assembly that Hamas refused to release prisoners or agree to a ceasefire.

He noted that he sought to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza but the movement "repeatedly rejected all offers," as he put it.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 65,382 martyrs and 166,985 injured, most of whom are children and women, and famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.

In his speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump said: "We must end the war in Gaza and negotiate for peace and the immediate return of the hostages." He added: "We have succeeded in bringing back most of the hostages in Gaza, and we want to bring back all the remaining ones at once (...) We must not yield to Hamas's demands, and they must release the hostages immediately."

In response, the families of the prisoners welcomed Trump's statements in a statement, saying: "It is time to work towards a comprehensive agreement to return all 48 abducted individuals and end the war in Gaza."

Macron: The State of Palestine will not be established without the recognition of "Israel," and Trump's Nobel Peace Prize is contingent upon ending the war on Gaza.

French President Emmanuel Macron linked the possibility of his American counterpart Donald Trump receiving the Nobel Peace Prize to his success in reaching a solution that ends the ongoing Israeli occupation war in the Gaza Strip, which has lasted for nearly two years.

In an interview with French channel "BFM TV," Macron commented on Trump's speech at the United Nations, saying: "I see an active American president saying: I want peace... The Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if you reach a solution to this conflict," clearly indicating that the peace efforts promoted by Trump should culminate in ending the conflict in Gaza.

Macron's statements come in the context of his comments on the American president's diplomatic activity, who spoke in his UN speech about reaching settlements for seven conflicts. On another note, regarding the French recognition of the State of Palestine announced on Monday, Macron clarified that the actual establishment of the Palestinian state on the ground will only be achieved "the day Tel Aviv recognizes it," pointing out that the recognition by the Israeli occupation represents the crucial step to realize this solution.

The United Nations Security Council held an open session this evening, Tuesday, during which it discussed the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East will never be accomplished through more violence, but requires a collective commitment to diplomatic action, international law, and the dignity of all people, urging the Council to take necessary measures.

Guterres reiterated his warning that the possibility of achieving a two-state solution is steadily fading and has now reached its lowest levels in decades.

Hebrew reports: Netanyahu established a Palestinian state with his mistakes.. and "Israel" is in isolation.

Analysts and former Israeli officials believe that the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, has established the State of Palestine through his mistakes. They pointed to the isolation of Tel Aviv due to the government's failure. This came on the heels of announcements from Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal recognizing the State of Palestine, bringing the total number of countries that have taken this step to 153 out of 193 member states of the United Nations.

Similar announcements from other countries are also anticipated, which the occupying state is monitoring with concern, referring to it as a "political tsunami." Channel 12 in Hebrew quotes Professor Yuval Shani from the Hebrew University stating: "Most countries in the world had recognized a Palestinian state even before the current wave of countries."

He adds: "What is new is that another group of Western countries is now announcing its recognition of a Palestinian state, which means that at this moment, there will only be very few significant countries in the world that still do not recognize a Palestinian state."

UN Report: Israel Seeks Permanent Control Over Gaza and Ensures Jewish Majority in the West Bank

A United Nations investigative committee stated today, Tuesday, that the Israeli government has shown a clear intention to impose permanent control over the Gaza Strip and ensure a Jewish majority in the occupied West Bank.

The committee issued a report today that provided historical background, identified the historical roots of land confiscation and population displacement, discrimination in land and housing, and the construction and expansion of settlements.

The report is scheduled to be presented at the 80th session of the General Assembly on October 28.

The report also includes a summary regarding Israel's behavior in the Gaza Strip under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, published on September 16 during the 60th session of the Human Rights Council.

The committee concluded that four acts of genocide have occurred in Gaza, perpetrated by the Israeli authorities "with the specific intent to destroy the Palestinians" in the region.

It noted that the actions of Israeli leaders are attributed to the State of Israel; therefore, Israel, as a state, is responsible for committing genocide, for failing to prevent it, and for not punishing its perpetrators.

It found that "the Israeli president, prime minister, and former defense minister have incited the commission of genocide."

The report concluded that the Israeli authorities have systematically and extensively destroyed civilian infrastructure in the corridors and buffer zone of the Gaza Strip, continuously working to expand the areas under their control to reach 75% of the sector's area by last July.

By destroying civilian neighborhoods and forcibly relocating populations, the committee stated that the Israeli authorities have deliberately deprived Palestinians in Gaza of the essential resources for their survival.

Thus, it found that these actions have deliberately imposed harsh living conditions on Palestinians in Gaza, "intended to destroy them wholly or partially, which constitutes genocide."

The committee chair, Navi Pillay, stated in a press release: "Israel must immediately cease and reverse its confiscation and use of Palestinian land in Gaza, including the establishment and expansion of the buffer zone and corridors.

It must return all confiscated land to its Palestinian owners."

In the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the committee stated that the Israeli policies and actions implemented since October 2023 "including explicit and implicit support for violent settler actions" have shown a clear intention to forcibly transfer Palestinians and expand the Israeli Jewish civilian presence.

The committee reiterated that the Israeli military operations in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps - which began in early 2025 - "have significantly altered the geographical landscape by destroying buildings and infrastructure and displacing Palestinian populations."

The committee chair expressed her deep discontent with the recently announced plan by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to annex 82% of the occupied West Bank.

She added: "These developments confirm our conclusions.

The Israeli encroachment on all of the West Bank, and the displacement and expulsion of many Palestinian communities have now become explicit goals, proudly boasted about by Israeli officials.

These plans and statements are unacceptable and must be widely condemned."

Regarding the situation in Israel, the committee found that successive Israeli governments have implemented laws and policies aimed at reducing Palestinian space, including by restricting and limiting Palestinian towns and preventing and obstructing Palestinians with Israeli citizenship from moving and integrating into Jewish towns.

Additionally, "the informal barriers that have primarily arisen from the disparities and social and economic inequalities between the two population groups have become entrenched over decades, hindering integration," the committee stated.

The investigative committee noted that some policies and laws have been explicitly identified as discriminatory, while others have a discriminatory impact, leading to segregation.

The report identified six Israeli ministers as likely bearing the greatest responsibility for international crimes related to land and housing, as well as other crimes identified in previous committee reports.

Former "Defense" Minister Yoav Gallant and current "Defense" Minister Israel Katz "are responsible for the actions of Israeli security forces in Gaza."

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of Settlements and National Projects Orit Strock "share responsibility for advancing the construction and expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem."

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir "is responsible for the mistreatment of Palestinian detainees by Israeli prison authorities."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is the highest authority responsible for Israel's conduct in all of the occupied Palestinian territory and is directly responsible for issuing orders to commit acts that constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide."

The committee urged the Israeli government to immediately end "the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip," and to fully comply with

Prisoners' Club: The Israeli prison system carries out physical and psychological destruction operations against prisoners to kill more.

The Prisoners' Club stated that the Israeli prison system continues its policies and medical crimes against prisoners, aiming to destroy them physically and psychologically, as part of the fundamental course of slow killing that has led to the martyrdom of dozens of prisoners and detainees since the onset of the genocide.

The Prisoners' Club clarified in a statement today, Tuesday, that through legal visits to the prisoners and by following up on the cases of released prisoners after the end of their sentences, it has become evident that many of them suffer from chronic health and psychological issues that are escalating at an unprecedented rate, and that the vast majority of those visited suffer from at least one health problem, a situation that also applies to released prisoners.

The club added that the continued spread of diseases and epidemics among the ranks of prisoners reflects the level of the health catastrophe that the prison system has engineered and shaped to lead to the killing of more prisoners. In addition to the ongoing spread of scabies, which has infected thousands of prisoners, there are many diseases that appear without clear diagnosis, and some of these have been transferred to hospitals immediately upon their release, only to later find that they suffer from chronic illnesses.

In this context, the Prisoners' Club referred to the case of prisoner Mahmoud Abdullah from Jenin, who has been detained since January 2025 and is currently facing a serious deterioration in his health condition. According to a statement from one of the prisoners held in the "Ramla Prison Clinic," the prison administration recently transferred prisoner Abdullah to "Ramla" while he was in a critically dangerous health condition, with initial data indicating that he is suffering from cancer.

Prisoner Abdullah is a former detainee who was arrested during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2002 and spent two years in prison. He was suffering from health issues prior to his current arrest and was receiving treatment. In his new arrest this year, he has been moved between "Megiddo" and "Gilboa" prisons, reaching "Ramla."

A new trial session for him is scheduled for September 29, 2025. The Prisoners' Club confirmed that it is closely following the case of detainee Abdullah and has submitted a request to visit him in "Ramla" to assess the details of his health condition, in addition to taking the necessary legal measures to follow up on his treatment.

Regarding released prisoners, the Prisoners' Club documented hundreds of cases that required urgent health follow-up over the past months, with some of them emerging in critical and dangerous health conditions as a result of torture, deprivation of treatment, and the crime of starvation. Among the most notable of these cases is that of former detainee Mahmoud Al-Wardian from Bethlehem, who was found to be suffering from brain damage and signs of torture on his body after his release, and he remains in a coma in the hospital to this day.

Recently, the occupation released detainee Murad Obeid (30 years old) from Tubas, after 16 months of detention in "Megiddo" prison, where he was released in a dangerous health condition. It became clear hours after his release that he was suffering from severe pneumonia that caused a drop in oxygen levels, in addition to suffering from severe weight loss, as his weight had dropped to (45 kg) due to the crime of starvation, necessitating his transfer to intensive care where he is still receiving treatment.

The Prisoners' Club confirmed that the systematic medical crimes perpetrated by the occupation have constituted, and continue to constitute, one of the most prominent crimes committed against prisoners, alongside a series of other violations carried out over decades, introducing new tools and methods to kill more prisoners. These crimes have escalated at an unprecedented rate since the onset of genocide and the subsequent serious changes in detention conditions within prisons.

The club renewed its call to the United Nations for the necessity of opening an independent international investigation into the systematic crimes committed against prisoners and detainees in Israeli occupation prisons, and to restore its required role to save what remains of the essence of its work, and to bear its responsibilities regarding what is happening amid the ongoing genocide against our people in Gaza and the comprehensive aggression on various Palestinian geographies.
