Biden's advisor meets Abdullah II to calm concerns about potential normalization deal

The American Axios website stated, on Monday evening, that Brett McGurk, senior advisor to US President Joe Biden for Middle East affairs, will visit, after Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to meet King Abdullah II.

According to the American website, the Jordanian monarch is concerned about the huge US deal it is leading to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Jordan fears that this deal comes at the expense of the kingdom and its responsibilities towards the Palestinians.

According to the site, US Secretary of State Barbara Leaf, who will arrive with McGurk to Saudi Arabia and Jordan, will hold talks in Israel.

On her second visit in a few weeks, Leaf will meet with Israeli National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi and other officials.

The same site had previously stated that a Palestinian delegation would meet with McGurk and Saudi officials, in order to discuss Palestinian demands within the framework of a huge deal for normalization between the Kingdom and Israel under American auspices.
