Prisoner Muhammad Sobhi defied life imprisonment by obtaining 3 university degrees
The defiance of the prisoner, Muhammad Sobhi, imprisonment, the conditions of detention, the sentence and illness, by investing his time and the journey of his arrest, by reading, studying and writing, so he achieved success in high school and graduated with several university degrees and published many books.
She says, "My beloved son continued to practice his normal life behind bars, defying imprisonment and illness. At first, he obtained a diploma in social service from Al-Aqsa University, and continued until he graduated with a bachelor's degree from Al-Aqsa University, majoring in history, then a bachelor's degree from Abu Dis University, majoring in political science."
And she adds, "With his spirits, will, and love for life and running, he obtained 3 university degrees in a record time and is currently preparing for a master's degree, God willing."
After he spent 22 years in the prisons of the occupation, the patient mother prays, day and night, for the last year of her precious firstborn, and the joy of his freedom and his soon wedding.
She said, "Since his arrest, we have never felt the taste of joy or a happy occasion. The occupation arrested my joy and all of our lives, and we became hostages with Muhammad, the most beloved of all of our hearts. He is the eldest, the precious, and the heartbeat. I will remain sad until I embrace him and rejoice in his freedom and wedding."
In the Jenin camp, Muhammad was born, raised and educated until his family moved and settled in the city. There he continued his life as his mother recounted. He successfully completed high school and then joined the Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron. The occupation arrested him for the first time in 1999, after he had finished the first year of his studies. He was sentenced to a year and a half in prison.
And she adds: "When the Al-Aqsa Intifada broke out, he joined the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, and resisted the occupation and survived several assassination attempts until he was arrested on 7/28/2002, from Wadi Burqin during an ambush set up by Israeli special forces after he had been chased for a year."
And she continues: "The occupation punished us by demolishing our house on 7/30/2002, and Muhammad was transferred to the investigation center of "Al-Jalama", and he was subjected to a difficult interrogation over a period of 100 days, noting that he was suffering from an injury in his hand before his arrest, and during the interrogation with him, the investigators took advantage of the injury in addition to physical and psychological torture against him.”
And she continues: "Muhammad was sentenced to life imprisonment and (15) years, and they punished us by preventing him from visiting him for four years.
With pride and pride, Umm Muhammad talked about his heroics behind bars, during which he was able to challenge the occupation with education, and he also managed to master the English and Hebrew languages / in addition to his mastery of the Arabic language, and the Martyr Noman Tahaina House for Publishing and Distribution and the Mohjah Al-Quds Foundation published two books for him documenting each one of them The story of 42 prisoners behind bars, and it bears the name (The Path of the Truthful), jihadi stories from the heroics of the Palestinian resistance, and it consists of three parts.
In the Ramon desert prison, Muhammad is languishing, and his mother says: "We are eagerly awaiting his visit, and when I see him, I feel the taste of happiness, and raise his spirits, but he is stronger than us with his steadfastness, patience and heroism."
And she adds: "The occupation stole our joys, even on happy occasions. His two sisters, Alaa and Majdulin, got married to his brother Ahmed, and they have children. There are 12 grandchildren in our house, whom their aunt and uncle know only through pictures.. So how long will this injustice and suffering continue?"
