Detained for 23 years.. The health condition of prisoner Qassem Muslim from Nablus has deteriorated
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said that a recent deterioration occurred in the health status of the prisoner, Qassem Musallam (54) years old, from the town of Talfit / Nablus, who has been detained since 2000 and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The Captive Club stated that the prisoner, Musallam, who is in Gilboa prison, has recently been suffering from recurrent leg cramps and nerve problems, and the prison administration refuses to provide him with the necessary treatment. In addition, he has been suffering from high blood pressure since 2008, and diabetes since 2008. 2014, permanent problems in the spine for about 10 years.
The Prisoner Club held the occupation prison administration fully responsible for his life, and called on all relevant authorities to intervene in order to oblige the prison administration to provide him with the necessary treatment.
The Captive Club confirms that the prisoner, Muslim, is among hundreds of prisoners who suffer from diseases and health problems, and face the crime of medical negligence (slow killing) around the clock, which today constitutes the most prominent systematic crime against prisoners.
It is noteworthy that the prisoner, Muslim, after his arrest in 2000, faced a harsh and long investigation, and the occupation prevented his wife from visiting him after his arrest for four consecutive years.
He is married and father of five children. When he was arrested, his oldest daughter was 9 years old, and his youngest son, Raafat, who was two and a half months old at the time.
The occupation sentenced him to 23 years in prison, and later 7 years were added to his sentence, bringing his sentence to 30 years.
During the years of his captivity, he lost his mother, the occupation prevented him from saying goodbye to her, he married four of his children, and today he is the grandfather of 13 grandchildren.
During the years of his captivity, he was able to complete his studies, obtaining a high school diploma and a bachelor's degree, and is in the process of obtaining a master's degree.
