A review of the developments in the health status of some prisoners
In its report issued today, Sunday, the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs published details of the health status of a number of sick prisoners languishing in Ramleh Prison Hospital, after the Commission’s lawyer, Fawaz Shaloudi, visited them to see their conditions and follow developments on their health.
According to the report, the cancer-stricken prisoner, Assef al-Rifai, 20, from Ramallah, recently underwent two chemotherapy sessions at Assaf Harofeh Hospital, and is currently suffering from severe pain in the bladder area.
And he indicated that the health condition of the prisoner, Kamal Jouri, is improving significantly, and he is now walking on his feet and moving on his own.
He pointed out that the prisoner Malik Taqatqa has, after two weeks, a review to Soroka Hospital for a session to discuss the possibility of removing platinum from his foot, while an MRI will be done for the prisoner Thaer Oweidat, and the prisoner Saeed Dweikat will undergo an examination for the possibility of removing a fatty cyst.
Concerning the prisoner, Muhammad Saeed Gawadrah, he underwent a burn examination on his body, and the doctors decided to perform 52 laser sessions, and treatment will begin in the coming weeks, while the health condition of the prisoner, Noor Jarbou, is improving, his wound is close to healing, and he begins physical therapy.
While there was an improvement in the condition of the prisoner Muhammad Hamdan, who gradually began to leave the "crutches", while the prisoner Omar Abed underwent a platinum operation in his foot, and the doctors informed him that he was forbidden to walk on his foot for a period of 5 weeks.
