Settlers storm archaeological sites in Bethlehem and Nablus
Today, Sunday, settlers stormed the Suleiman Pools tourist area, located between the village of Artas and the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem.
And local sources reported that dozens of settlers stormed the Solomon Pools area, under the protection of the occupation forces, and performed Talmudic rituals in the place.
It is noteworthy that the settlers stepped up in the recent period of their incursions into Solomon's Pools area and the performance of Talmudic rituals, amid the provocation of the citizens.
In the same context, the occupation forces closed the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus.
The mayor of Sebastia, Muhammad Azem, said that large forces of the occupation army stormed the archaeological site and closed it to the movement of citizens and prevented movement to it. This was in preparation for the settlers' storming of the site.
He added that the occupation forces tightened their measures in the vicinity of the town and set up several checkpoints in the area.
In Nablus, the occupation forces intensified their military measures in the vicinity of Nablus.
Local sources said that the occupation forces closed the Surra checkpoint with the iron gate, and also closed the Tal gate west of Nablus.
The occupation forces intensified their military measures at the Hawwara checkpoints south of Nablus, Beit Furik to the east, Shafi Shomron to the west, and the "17" checkpoint near Asira al-Shamaliya to the north, where they randomly searched vehicles and checked citizens' identities.
The same sources added that the occupation forces set up a flying checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Beita, south of Nablus, and randomly searched those leaving the town. They also set up a checkpoint near Al-Masoudiya on the road between Jenin and Nablus.
