The official spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry , Ambassador Ahmed Hafez , expressed his country's concern as a result of the accelerating and dangerous escalation that the region has witnessed over the past 48 hours, following the Israeli occupation forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its assault on worshipers and pilgrims.

Hafez called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and respond to the efforts exerted for calm, in light of the Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Hafez warned of the grave risks looming over the region if the current wave of violence continues.

It is noteworthy that the Palestinian resistance launched, during the past hours, dozens of missiles towards the settlements around the Gaza Strip, in response to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
