This is how "Israel" prepares to deal with the "Wall Guard 2" scenario!

The Hebrew newspaper, Haaretz, said today, Monday, that the Israeli security system is preparing for the “guard of the walls 2” scenario, through several measures that will be taken after they were recently discussed in the corridors of that system.

Among what has been focused on is the mobilization of reserve forces from the Israeli army to deal with any unusual events that may take place in the mixed cities in which Arabs and Jews live in the cities of the Green Line, according to the newspaper.

The newspaper indicated that if the new "National Guard" plan is implemented, which will be supervised by the so-called Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, this force will not act as regular police, but as paramilitary forces that will be used in times of emergency in the Green Line areas and deal mainly with Any national events among the Palestinians inside .

And the newspaper indicated that, in recent months, joint meetings were held between the police and the Israeli army, during which the division of powers and roles was discussed in the event of the "guard of the walls 2" scenario, with reference to the battle of "Saif al-Quds" as it was named in Palestine in May 2021.

Recently, an executive plan was drawn up according to which reserve forces from the Israeli Home Front would be deployed to secure traffic on dozens of roads in these mixed cities, which are supposed to be carried out by the police and, in the future, the National Guard. However, there are fears that the recruitment of reserve forces From the army means that the latter finds itself in the face of "the Arabs in Israel."

Knesset member Yoav Segalovich of the Yesh Atid party, a former deputy minister of internal security, will ask the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee in the Knesset to hold a discussion on this issue after the Jewish “Passover” holiday, telling the Hebrew newspaper that this requires broad and deep thinking because it carries risks. A great strategy, noting that he fears that the "Arab public in Israel will see that this plan aims to militarize relations."

Segalovich warned that if the soldiers fired live bullets at the "Arabs" during any events, this could be a very negative turn that would threaten relations and have political consequences.

The Israeli security system justifies the deployment of reserve forces from its army by saying that the police do not have enough manpower to deal with the situation, and therefore light reserve forces will be deployed with cars and equipped with firearms and means of dispersing demonstrations.

And the intention is that 16 battalions will be deployed, especially in large parts of the Negev, on the main roads in the north, and to protect strategic infrastructure sites. Almost half of this number has already been formed and its elements have undergone initial training. The possibility of deploying reserve battalions in neighborhoods has also been discussed. East Jerusalem, although that is not part of the plan.

A senior security source criticized the proposals discussed in the meetings, warning that the assignment scenarios that are assigned to the Israeli army represent a strategic shift in conflict situations and wars regarding “the loyalty of the Arabs to Israel,” and that such a step would change the rules of the game in dealing with them, pointing to The risks of the police's ability to contain any event that deviates from its normal state were discussed, in light of the estimates that a small number will participate in the events if they occur.

The Shin Bet estimates that 5,000 Palestinians from the interior may take part in the events, which is a small number that needs to be dealt with with individual treatment tools and is not part of a comprehensive policy towards all Palestinians inside.

The newspaper says that the Israeli army has failed more than once to deal with violent demonstrations inside the West Bank, and therefore it will face great difficulties in the event that similar demonstrations occur among the Palestinians inside, especially since the lack of adequate preparation and training for the reserve units may prompt the use of live ammunition, which leads to a comprehensive confrontation. within the green line areas.
