Google allows Trump's social network "Truth Social" to display its application on his store

San Francisco (AFP) - Google announced Wednesday that it has allowed the social networking platform "Truth Social", which was founded by former US President Donald Trump, to offer its application on the "Play Store", the store for downloading applications on mobile devices running the Android system.

The internet giant said it made the decision after TruthSocial agreed to abide by its policies to remove content that violates its rules, such as "incitement to violence."

He added that the platform has updated its application in accordance with the policies of "Google Play" in terms of blocking objectionable publications, reporting and removing unwanted content, in addition to banning abusers on the platform.

At the end of August, Google announced that the "Truth Social" application was not welcome in the Play Store until it complied with content rules, including the prohibition of violent threats.

The company said it notified TruthSocial on Aug. 19 that its app violated Play Store policies and required "effective systems to moderate user-generated content."

According to the technology company, the app was violating its content rules for making physical and violent threats.

TruthSocial is Trump's project to strike back at platforms like Twitter, which he banned after a mob of his supporters attacked the Capitol in January 2021.
