A 5.4-magnitude earthquake hits Hatay, southern Turkey
Ankara - "Jerusalem" dot com - An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the "Richter" scale struck today, Monday, the state of Hatay in southern Turkey .
And the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced, in a statement on its website, that the epicenter of the tremor is the Gulf of (Iskenderun) in the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of 39.5 km below sea level.
Turkey is witnessing a series of earthquakes after recording a devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria at dawn on February 6. There were no immediate reports of casualties or material losses.
