81 Palestinians are victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The death toll among our people as a result of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria rose to 81, after the death of a Palestinian family consisting of three members, in addition to another Palestinian citizen, in the Turkish city of Antakya.


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a press statement today, Friday, that the death of Hoda Sweed, Haitham Sweed, Muhammad Sweed, in addition to Amer Dakhlallah was confirmed in the city of Antakya, and they were all living in the Daraa refugee camp in Syria, before they moved to Turkey.


Last night, the Foreign Ministry announced that the death of Aisha Bakir, Abdullah Bakir, and Abdel Moeen Bakir had been confirmed in the city of Antakya, noting that they were Palestinian refugees in Syria, and had moved from Daraa camp to live in Turkey.


The "Foreign Ministry" suggested that the number of casualties among our people would increase due to the incomplete information available regarding the safety of all Palestinian families in the affected areas in both Turkey and Syria.


Yesterday, Thursday, rescue crews were able to recover the body of Doctor Youssef Majdi Darabieh from the Gaza Strip, in the Turkish city of Antakya, after he was lost for three consecutive days as a result of the earthquake, according to the Palestinian ambassador to Turkey, Faed Mustafa.


Earlier, the "Foreign Ministry" announced that rescue crews were able to recover the body of the Palestinian citizen, Hassan Muhammad Demir, and his wife, from under the rubble of their destroyed house in the Turkish city of Adiyaman.


The number of victims among our people in Turkey has reached 30, in addition to 51 Palestinian refugees in Syria.


The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey has risen to more than 22,000, while the search for survivors continues in an atmosphere of extreme cold.

About 19,000 people were killed in Turkey, and 3,507 in Syria, according to local authorities and medical sources, bringing the total number of victims to about 22,507 people.
