Hezbollah engages in 'zero-distance' clashes, Israeli raids kill 5 Lebanese

Hezbollah announced that it was engaging in "zero-distance" clashes with Israeli soldiers inside a Lebanese border town, and while Israelis were injured and 12 apartments were damaged by rockets fired by the party, 5 Lebanese were killed in Israeli raids on southern Lebanon and eastern Beirut.

The party explained that its fighters are engaged in violent clashes in the town of Aita al-Shaab at zero distance with various types of machine guns and missiles with the Israeli occupation forces.

The party also announced that "when a Merkava tank intervened to provide support, its fighters targeted it with appropriate weapons, which led to its burning," after it said that it had destroyed another tank at dawn on Thursday, killing and wounding its crew.

A short while ago, Hezbollah said, "We targeted a Merkava tank with a guided missile south of the town of Adaisseh, killing and wounding its crew."

The party added - in successive statements - that it targeted Israeli soldiers as they advanced at the Adaisseh, Rab Thalathin and Taybeh triangle, and forced them to retreat.

The party confirmed that it "targeted a gathering of Zionist enemy forces at the Al-Malikiyah site with a rocket barrage."

Hezbollah also announced that it had bombarded the occupied city of Safed and the Zevulon military industries base, north of Haifa, with rockets.

He added that his fighters attacked the city of Nahariya and the settlement of Kiryat Shmona with rockets, and also targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the settlements of Manara and Misgav Am.

Israelis injured

On the other hand, 4 Israelis were injured when rockets were fired at the Western Galilee. Yedioth Ahronoth reported that one person was injured when a rocket fired from Lebanon hit a residential complex in Karmiel, noting that 12 apartments were also damaged.

The Israeli Army Radio said that about 120 rockets were fired towards Israel from Lebanon, since this morning.

The Israeli army radio quoted a medical source as saying that 3 Israelis were injured by shrapnel from rockets fired at the Western Galilee.

The Israeli army said it had detected the launch of 50 rockets from Lebanon towards northern Israel, and indicated that a number of them were intercepted, and some fell in open areas.

A military source said that for the first time since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah fired 50 rockets in two minutes at the Galilee.

Army Radio reported that 12 rockets fell in the city of Nahariya.

A short while ago, the Israeli Home Front Command announced that sirens sounded in Metula, Kiryat Shmona and its surroundings, and also sounded in several towns north of the Hula Valley following the infiltration of what it described as a "hostile drone."

For its part, the Israeli army said it intercepted 5 missiles fired from Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee and Central Galilee regions in the north.

Dead and injured

On the other hand, 5 Lebanese were killed and 6 others were injured - on Thursday - in Israeli raids targeting areas in the east and south of the country, as part of the comprehensive aggression launched by Tel Aviv against Lebanon.

The official Lebanese News Agency reported that an Israeli drone targeted a car with a missile in the Aley district of Mount Lebanon Governorate, east of the capital Beirut, killing two people.

Two people were killed and five others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in the town of Al-Khader in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, eastern Lebanon.

In the south, the agency reported that one person was killed and another was injured as a result of an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the city of Tyre.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that Israeli raids targeted the towns of Kfar Tibnit, Al-Bissarieh, Sheheen, Al-Ghassan, and Kafra and Yater in southern Lebanon, and other raids targeted the vicinity of the town of Al-Sama'iyah in Tyre district.

For its part, the Israeli army claimed that its forces had eliminated dozens of Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, noting that it had raided more than 160 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, including missile platforms, military buildings, and infrastructure.

The army confirmed in its morning report that "about 20 militants were eliminated, and combat equipment was found, including missile platforms, mortar shells, and weapons depots." It added that warplanes launched raids and eliminated cells it described as "sabotage."

After clashes with factions in Lebanon, including Hezbollah, which began after Israel launched a war of genocide on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Tel Aviv expanded the scope of the genocide since September 23 to include most areas of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through air strikes, and also began a ground invasion in the south.

The aggression on Lebanon resulted in a total of 2,574 deaths and 12,000 injuries, including a large number of women and children, and about 1.2 million displaced persons. Most of the victims and displaced persons were recorded after September 23.

Every day, Hezbollah responds by launching missiles, drones, and artillery shells targeting military sites, intelligence headquarters, military gatherings, and settlements. While Israel announces some of its human and material losses, military censorship imposes a strict blackout on most of the losses, according to observers.
