3 dead, 6 injuries, and students trapped amidst the destruction of infrastructure in Qabatiya
Since Thursday morning, the Israeli occupation forces have continued to besiege the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, leaving 3 dead, 6 injured, and besieging students in two schools, amid widespread destruction of the infrastructure.
Three young men were killed by live bullets, and six others were injured, including two in a run-over operation by an occupation jeep, during the raid.
A short while ago, the occupation forces stormed the front yard of Izzat Abu al-Rab School, accompanied by a military bulldozer, and fired bullets around it and around Qabatiya School. About 1,200 students and employees inside the Education Directorate are still under siege, while 8 schools were evacuated from distant areas.
Earlier today, the occupation forces stormed the town of Qabatiya, surrounded a house in the town, and bombarded it with shells, before climbing onto its roof and pulling out the bodies of the three martyrs, according to what was shown in a video clip.
Later, the occupation bulldozer began demolishing the besieged house.
According to local sources, dozens of students suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic tear gas, which the occupation forces fired heavily towards Abu al-Rab School, which they besieged along with Qabatiya School, which caused a state of extreme panic among the students and teaching staff.
They added that the occupation soldiers prevented the Red Crescent crews from reaching the besieged house, climbed onto the roof of one of the houses, conducted searches, then detonated a bomb in the place, and fired toxic tear gas at a number of journalists present to cover the event.
The occupation bulldozers also carried out extensive destruction of the infrastructure on Al-Marj Street and the police station in the town.
With the death of the three young men in Qabatiya, the death toll in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023, has risen to 710, including 160 children, 10 women, and 9 elderly people.
