The Philadelphia Axis and the Problem of Sovereignty..

If it is known that Netanyahu's malicious goal of involving the Philadelphia Axis in the negotiations in order to disrupt them and continue the war, then I wonder what the Palestinian presidency means by saying that the Philadelphia Axis is a sovereign border between Palestine and Egypt!! At a time when everyone knows that the entire Gaza Strip is subject to occupation, as is the case in the West Bank, and there is no Palestinian sovereignty over any inch of Palestinian land or its crossings and borders, neither the Rafah Crossing, the Philadelphia Axis, nor the Erez Crossing, nor the Karameh Crossing with Jordan.

The Rafah Crossing and the Philadelphia Axis were subject to the occupation's control and permanent presence even after the signing of the Camp David Accords with Egypt in 1979, and the situation did not change except relatively after the establishment of the Authority and then the signing of the crossings agreement in 2005 without the matter reaching the recognition of Palestinian sovereignty, especially with Israel's withdrawal from the Oslo Accords and Hamas's control over the Strip in 2007.

Israel's control of the axis may affect Egyptian sovereignty and conflict with the security annex of the Camp David Accords, but it has nothing to do with the lack of Palestinian sovereignty over the entire land of Palestine. In my opinion, focusing in the negotiations on the ceasefire, the Netzarim axis that divides the northern Gaza Strip from the southern Gaza Strip, the return of the population to the northern Gaza Strip, and putting an end to famine and disease are more important to the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip than the Philadelphi axis.
