Red Crescent: Our crews are facing difficulty in responding to citizens in Jenin

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said on Friday that its crews are facing great difficulty in responding to the appeals of citizens besieged in the city of Jenin and its camp for the third consecutive day.

Red Crescent spokeswoman Nibal Farsakh said that the occupation forces obstructed the movement of ambulances and prevented their crews from reaching their destination to perform their humanitarian work, which makes it difficult for the crews to respond to citizens’ appeals, provide first aid to the injured and sick, and transport dead.

She added that the association's crews are trying to meet the appeals of citizens in need of medicines, baby milk, diapers, or food supplies that have run out due to the severe siege imposed by the occupation on the region.

Farsakh confirmed that the association's crews face great challenges and risks in meeting the humanitarian and emergency needs of citizens, as they are directly targeted with bullets, in addition to stopping the crews, searching the ambulances and preventing them from entering any area in the city without obtaining prior coordination through the International Committee of the Red Cross, which takes a long time and exposes the lives of citizens to danger.
