Victory and defeat are not decided yet.
The Palestinians have held out but have not yet won, and the Israelis have failed but have not yet been defeated. As for the Americans, they are partners with both parties in deliberation and follow-up, each according to his position and status with them, on the basis of the claim that they are mediators, wanting an agreement that has not yet been achieved, and has no horizon for it to be achieved. Therefore, Washington wants it to remain alive at the open negotiating table, as long as the war-battle has not ended, and victory or defeat appears for one of the two parties, at the expense of the other.
For more than ten months, the Palestinian people and their valiant and courageous resistance in the Gaza Strip have held out, despite the pain, killing and destruction. As for the Israeli superiority, it failed first in the surprise of October 7, which shocked it. It failed secondly and failed to end the resistance, uproot it and eliminate its leaders, although it was able to assassinate the leaders Mohammed Deif, Marwan Issa, Saleh al-Arouri and Ismail Haniyeh. It failed thirdly in releasing the Israelis without an exchange operation. Moreover, it occupied the entire map of the Gaza Strip and did not discover the locations where the Israeli prisoners were hidden.
After its failure in its entire war on the Gaza Strip, the colony sought to expand the area of conflict and the field of struggle, through a series of assassinations outside Palestine, so that its war would be directed against Iran and its “tools”, and not as it is in reality, a conflict and war between Palestine and the colony on its land, with the presence of real, unprecedented solidarity at this pace and bias from influential Arab powers: 1- Lebanese Hezbollah, 2- Yemeni Ansar Allah, 3- Iraqi Popular Mobilization, partners and fighters, offering sacrifices and linking their fate and national, nationalist and religious future with the Palestinian people and for their benefit.
The colony wants to expand the war to include Iran, perhaps to push the United States to practically participate in bombing Iran and targeting: 1- The nuclear reactor, 2- The oil refineries. The United States does not want and does not want the Israeli scenario for fear of Russian intervention, which is ready and eager to help Iran against the American-European-Israeli alliance, in exchange for American-European-Israeli support for Ukraine, one for one, which will weaken the American role in punishing Russia and draining it in Ukraine.
The Palestinians held out but did not win. The Israelis failed but were not defeated yet, because the battle did not end, and the victor did not emerge at the expense of the defeated, because victory and defeat are linked to issues and titles: 1- A ceasefire, 2- The return of the displaced to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip, 3- The release of prisoners through exchange, 4- An Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, in addition to providing food and medicine requirements.
Netanyahu, his government and his coalition failed to achieve the goals of the Israeli invasion of ending the resistance, eliminating its leaders, and releasing Israeli prisoners without an exchange. Therefore, if he accepts a ceasefire, prisoner exchange and withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, this means that his state of failure has shifted to a state of defeat. This is why he rejects ceasefire deals and works to thwart them by placing obstacles and boring details that do not agree with the essence of the agreement, which includes a ceasefire, prisoner exchange and withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance, which has held out, agreed to all ceasefire deals while accepting gradual procedural facilitations, but it does not accept the continued presence of the occupation and the details of its conditions because that means its defeat and will lead to its public trial before its people who have paid a heavy price in terms of their lives and property.
The battle continues, and the preliminaries for victory and defeat are there, but their results have not yet been decided.
The Palestinians held out but did not win. The Israelis failed but were not defeated yet, because the battle is not over, and the victor has not emerged at the expense of the defeated.
