Khalil al-Hayya, a leader in the Palestinian Hamas movement, said on Wednesday that all options with Israel have failed and there is no other option but resistance, according to Reuters.

Al-Hayya denied the movement's intention to withdraw from negotiations with Israel regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, saying that the matter "depends on developments."

He said the movement would do whatever the situation required regarding the Gaza negotiations, "to serve the interests of our people."

He added that the movement is awaiting full investigations from the Iranian authorities regarding the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

"Ismail Haniyeh was not in a secret place or away from the spotlight, and his assassination is not an intelligence achievement," he said.

He added, "Ismail Haniyeh passed away in exceptional circumstances, and his people and the nation will miss him. He sacrificed his life for his religion and his country."
